Stuffed Animals Sleepover

Why should humans have all the fun? On Thursday, August 17th, drop off a stuffed toy at the Marshall Library before 7 pm, and your toy will have a fun-filled overnight at the library! Afternoon on Friday, pick up your friend. They'll have a certificate of participation and a photo of one of their adventures. We'll also post other photos of the stuffed animals and their shenanigans online. Parents, we do not recommend leaving your child's favorite stuffed animal if they will miss it overnight.

Our August teen crafternoon features rock painting on the lawn of the Marshall Library!

We’ll have gloves for you to wear, but make sure to wear clothes that can get stained in case of messes. Sunscreen and other sun-protection is also recommended. This event is weather-dependent. Due to the nature of this craft, we cannot move indoors in poor weather. Light rain will not affect this event, but a thunderstorm or very high temperatures might. Likewise, please arrive before 4 pm; we may clean up before 5 pm if no one is still creating.

2023 Stuff the Bus Campaign

Help the Chamber "Stuff the Bus!" We're a drop-off location this year for NEW school supplies for the month of August; find us at 317 W Main Street!

The 2022 Stuff the Bus School Supply Drive collected and distributed over 56,000 school supplies to approximately 4,000 local K-12 children at 22 local schools within our service area. Thank you United Way of Southwest Minnesota for all you do!

Special election set for city sales tax extension

MARSHALL - Keeping Marshall's local-option sales tax in place will be the key to replacing the city's aging aquatic center, city staff say. Now, the tax question will officially go to the voters this fall. On Tuesday, members of the Marshall City Council voted to set a special election Nov.

Road Closure Updates

Lyon Street Project


Watermain, Sanitary Sewer, and Storm Sewer, grading, and aggregates will be complete on Lyon Street between East College Drive to 3rd street by the end of today. Concrete work will commence next week. With that said we’re going to move into the last phase of this project, which requires shutting down Lyon Street from 5th street all the way to 3rd Street. This closure will begin on Monday, August 14th


Some items to note:

  1. Addison Lot will remain open, access will only be from the alleyway.
  2. Baldwin Lot will remain open, access will be from the alleyway, and the 4th street entrance.
  3. Rose Lot (behind the Wooden Nickel) will remain open, access will be from the alleyway only.
  4. Wells Fargo Drive Through will remain open, access in will be from 4th street, access out will be via the alleyway.
  5. Access to the post office will be off of 3rd street from Redwood, or the back alleyway to the Northeast of the Post Office.

Channel Parkway Project


CLOSURE OF CHANNEL PARKWAY FROM STATE HIGHWAY 19 TO US HIGHWAY 59 BEGINNING FRIDAY – AUGUST 11, 2023


Duininck, Inc. will begin construction on the project on Friday, August 11, 2023. Channel Parkway will be closed from State Highway 19 to US Highway 59 beginning Friday, August 11 until project completion on September 15, 2023, weather permitting.


Please use an alternate route to access businesses along Channel Parkway.


Thank you for your patience and cooperation as this construction is completed.

Chamber E-Connection Guidelines & Policies

Newsletter Goals & Audience


The purpose of the Chamber E-Connection newsletter is to share our member's events with other business and community members. It's an informational newsletter and helps to promote our member businesses and their events. Each Friday, our newsletter is sent to over 1,500 individuals. Our separate emails are sent to the same list, but are held especially for our Chamber events and Business After Hours.


Newsletter Policy


E-Connection events are included based on the requests from the member business. The following criteria are requested by the Marshall Area Chamber for event submissions:


*Event flyers or submissions must be an actual event. We don't include sales or promotions.

*Events can be included in the E-Connection for one week free of charge. You have the option of adding one additional week for $20.

*Submissions to be included must be sent the Wednesday prior to that Friday's E-Connection - they can be emailed to chamber@marshallmn.org.

*All event flyers are for Marshall Area Chamber of Commerce members only.
