Thank You Becky Zantout
After more than six years of exceptional service and dedication to the Community Foundation, we say "thank you for your time with us" to Grants Manager Becky Zantout . Becky will be leaving her position at the end of May as she stays home with her young daughter.

The Sycamore Depot Light Show & "DeKalb County by Drone" Show
Please join us on Saturday, May 19, for an evening of fun, artistic interpretation, and celebration. This year, The Light Show will feature an indoor “DeKalb County by Drone” show , a birds eye view of the communities we serve. Starting at dusk, we'll light up the walls of the Depot with the work of NIU Time Arts students and NIU Associate Professor Bart Woodstrup.

Welcome Karen Grush!
Please join us as we welcome Karen Grush , DeKalb representative, to the DeKalb County Community Foundation Board of Directors. She and her husband Joe reside in DeKalb where they have been for the past 44 years.

New Fund Addresses Needs in DeKalb County
The Community Foundation is pleased to announce the addition of the Deborah and Colin Booth Fund . This new field of interest fund allows the Booths to support DeKalb County organizations serving two areas of need: food insecurity and victims of domestic violence.  

$614,555 Raised During Give DeKalb County
Donors demonstrated their support of nonprofits located in or serving DeKalb County by setting new records during Give DeKalb County.

In its fifth year, 2018 saw the most participating nonprofits, the most donations, the highest number of donors, and the largest amount raised .

Scholarship Opportunities
The Community Foundation is accepting applications for the Renaissance Scholarship and Spinoso Masters Scholarship . Deadline is June 25, 2018.

The Renaissance Scholarship is available for students who were a part of the workforce and are seeking an undergraduate degree.

Spinoso Masters Scholarships are available for students pursuing a Masters level or post-undergraduate education.

Spring Community Needs Grants Award $165,000 to Local Organizations
The Community Foundation is excited to announce and award $165,000 in Community Needs Grants this spring . This support impacts 20 nonprofit and community organizations for a variety of programs and projects.

YEP Awards $12,562 in Youth Impact Grants
During the 2018 Grants Reception, Youth Engaged in Philanthropy (YEP) members awarded $12,562 in grants to 10 community organizations for a variety of youth serving projects and programs in DeKalb County.
