What Gives!
Greetings!
Happy spring! It's one of our favorite times of the year. Flowers begin to bloom, trees bud, baby animals appear, and generosity springs forth through grant programs, scholarship awards, and a giving day. A busy, yet inspiring time for philanthropy in DeKalb County!
Over $1 Million Raised for Give DeKalb County
Thanks to the extreme generosity of DeKalb County and beyond, we are thrilled to announce that Give DeKalb County surpassed the $1 million mark for a new giving day record.

As mail-in donations continue to arrive, so does the total amount raised. A few highlights so far: 
  • $556,000+ was raised online in 24-hours
  • 2,719 people donated
  • Over $139,000 raised for the Bonus Pool
  • Every participating nonprofit organization raised funding
  • Over $1 million raised, not including the Bonus Pool

THANK YOU to every donor, Community Partner, Media Sponsor, and participating nonprofit organization for making Give DeKalb County 2020 a great success! 

$125,619 Awarded in Spring Community Needs Grants
This spring, 25 local nonprofit and community organizations received a total of $125,619 in support for a variety of programs and projects aimed at serving the needs of the community.

Master’s Degree and Adult Education Scholarships Available
A pplications  are now open for: 
  • Renaissance Scholarship - A $1,000 scholarship available for students who were a part of the workforce and are seeking an undergraduate degree.
  • Spinoso Masters Scholarship - Worth up to $10,000, these scholarships are for students pursuing a Masters level or post-undergraduate education.

Kindergarten Readiness Toolkits Awarded
Announcing the  Kindergarten Readiness Toolkits grant program. Grants will provide 1,530 toolkits to children in DeKalb County.  This effort helps families to prepare for the transition from pre-k to kindergarten.

The Suter Company Provides Boost to Give DeKalb County
Prior to the May 7 Give DeKalb County event, The Suter Company provided an extremely generous $50,000 boost to the Bonus Pool, bringing the total over $100,000.
