City hires new Communications Director, Jarrod Wise
The City of Lakeway is excited to welcome Jarrod Wise as our new Communications Director. He will begin his career with the city on June 10 and brings almost 15 years of experience in communications and public relations. Jarrod graduated with honors from the University of Oklahoma in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Broadcast & Electronic Media and a Bachelor of Science degree in Health & Sports Sciences. Jarrod’s most recent experience was as the Vice President of Communications for the Better Business Bureau. With his wealth of knowledge in communications, graphic design, social media engagement, and media/public relations, we are confident that he will be an extremely valuable part of our team.
Legend Communities Town Halls scheduled for June 5 and June 11
The City of Lakeway and Legend Communities are seeking your input! Legend Communities holds an option to purchase approximately 60 acres of land from Lakeway MUD for future development at the intersection of Lohmans Crossing and Lohmans Spur just west of the new Lakeway Police Station. The developer, Legend Communities, is seeking public input on the potential development of this land at two upcoming town hall meetings and welcomes your feedback. The town hall meetings will be held on June 5, from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. and
June 11, from 2:00 p.m. - 3: 00 p.m. Both meetings will be held at the Lakeway Activity Center located at 105 Cross Creek Road. The purpose of these meetings is to present two options and seek public comment regarding each one.  

Budget season is in full swing
The development of the fiscal year 2019-2020 city budget is well underway. The first budget work session is scheduled for June 24 at 2:00 p.m. at City Hall, 1102 Lohmans Crossing Road. At that meeting Committee Chairs will present their budget requests, and the City Manager will be updating City Council regarding the status of the current Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). To review the Budget Calendar for all public work sessions click here.
Dive-In Movies begin again at the Lakeway Swim Center on Friday, June 7, with a presentation of Mary Poppins Returns!
