I feel so fortunate to walk through Bay Club doors during these trying times. I almost feel like nothing has changed as I work in my office or do a virtual spin class; but of course, that's not the case - I miss you all terribly and hope you are staying mentally and physically healthy.
I had a member come through last week to pick up a couple weights and he commented that he had such a positive emotion when he walked in - almost like being home. I am doing everything I can to ensure that these doors open again in the near future.
As many of you know from my updates, we have had about an 20% cancellation in membership. A very heartfelt thank you from all of us to all who kept your membership current through April. I hope you were able to take advantage of the Les Mills On Demand Virtual workouts provided by the club as well as borrow some of our equipment. If not, and you are still interested, send me an email.
I will be processing May dues on April 27th with hopes that Governor Mills will deem it safe to lift the restriction on the closure of non-essential businesses - with social distancing guidelines, of course - some time in May. If you need to make changes to your account, please reply to this email, and I will personally take care of it.
If you are wondering how we would schedule the recommended amount of members in our space to comply with social distancing, I would be setting up a on-line schedule for the fitness room just like the group fitness schedule. Of course it would be based on the Governor's current space to customer ratio, which for our 15,000 sqft space would allow 35 people at a time. This is doable!
Because of your generosity of staying current for May, we will be able to make the below changes/purchases that will help keep Bay Club viable:
- I will be installing Les Mills Group Fitness Virtual classes in the big studio. Just like in spin, these classes will not take the place of our instructors. It will merely allow us to run 5 different programs all day with only 5-6 people in class at any one time. I'm thinking it will be a while before members are comfortable in a room of 15-20 participants.
- Marissa is also working hard with our instructors to see who would be able to provide our current classes via Zoom ...keep an eye out for that email.
- Right before we closed, I was ordering the "InBody" composition analysis machine. It's a biomedical device used to provide vital data printouts such as: Body Fat-Lean Body Mass, Muscle-Fat analysis, BMI index, Body comp history etc....I'm thinking when the time comes, we'll need some numbers to get us motivated again! Check it out!
- Along these same lines, our nutritionist, Chelsea Barringer, MS, DTR, will be offering a 5-week program geared to help you cleanse your body, boost energy (and immunity!), and fine tune metabolism and body composition - that you can take from the comfort of your own home. More now than ever, our immune is so important on so many different levels. As a Bay Club member, you'll get $150 off this program with code 'BAY CLUB'. Click below for more info and to get started.
Thank you all again for your loyalty. I know times are hard and we all have different financial situations, so I am available to listen to each of you so don't hesitate to reach out to me. I am also interested to hear if you have some other ideas of things the club could be doing to make this time easier for you and to keep you motivated.
Take good care, and don't hesitate to call me or reply to this email with any questions/concerns/suggestions.
