Use All of your Three Brains
No matter what physical ailment or emotional episode we might be trying to overcome in our lives, healing will move much faster when we integrate the mind, body and spirit. Whatever is going on in the body is always coupled with the brain (mind) and to the emotional (spirit) side of our being - it’s a triangle that works together. In other words, everything is connected. It is important for us amazing humans to create harmony among the mind, body and spirit, because doing so, helps us to be integrated, grounded and whole.
The link between mind, body and soul is scientific fact. Research reveals we have three separate neural pathway networks, leading to the head, the gut and the heart. These have been dubbed the three brains, all capable of controlling how we feel and how we react. It’s vital to nurture each ‘brain’ to ensure optimal wellbeing.
It’s a delicate balance. If our physical health is sound but our mental or spiritual wellbeing is not, our physical health will eventually be impacted: likewise, with poor physical health.
Understanding the importance of mind, body and soul, and identifing ways to improve and maintain health and wellbeing in each area, is vital. During the next few months, our newsletter topics will include and support this concept, adults and children alike.
In good health,

Expose your child to the
simplest connection in life - Nature
|
Develop your child’s play in the great outdoors. Expose them to Mother Nature – the simplest connection in life. Moving and playing outside has enormous benefits for the mind, body and spirit of a developing child. To start, locate natural safe places where your kids can play for at least one hour a day of unstructured free time. A backyard, a playground, or a park are all you need; kids get creative digging dirt, picking up worms, jumping and laughing. Who didn't want a tree house when they were a child?

Just Breathe -
Benefits of Meditation for Children
|
Our kids' brains are tired, and children of all ages really need opportunities where they can take time out each day "unplugged" to relax and focus. Meditation offers this break and helps kids function more effectively and clearly.
Children today also have reportedly high stress levels. To help them take a break, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) encourages parents to share meditation with their children—and teachers to incorporate mindfulness training into their lesson plans.
The simple act of teaching children how to stop, focus, and just breathe could be one of the greatest gifts you give them.

Nature Forces Within Us Are The
True Healers of Disease. - Hippocrates
|
Hippocrates of Cos was said to have lived sometime between 450 BCE to 380 BCE. He was a physician, and the writings of the Corpus Hippocraticum provide a wealth of information on biomedical methodology and offer one of the first reflective codes of professional ethics.
On the biomedical methodology side, these writings provide the most detailed observations to date in the Western world. On the ethical side, their code of professional ethics is so well structured that it continues to stand as a model for other professions, who have affirmed the Hippocratic Oath?

Don't Yell At Your Water!
|
|
From 1999, Emoto published several volumes of a work, containing photographs of ice crystals and accompanying experiments such as that of the ‘rice in water’ 30-day experiment. Emoto said that water was a "blueprint for our reality" and that emotional "energies" and "vibrations" could change its physical structure.
His water crystal experiments consisted of exposing water in glasses to various words, pictures, or music, then freezing it and examining the ice crystals' aesthetic properties with microscopic photography. He claimed that water exposed to positive speech and thoughts created visually "pleasing" ice crystals, and that negative intentions yielded "ugly" ice formations. Even Gwyneth Paltrow has reminded us, “not to yell at our water.”
Commentators have criticized Emoto for insufficient experimental controls and for not sharing enough details of his experiments with the scientific community, regardless, his fringe science work has become a science fair project favorite with students.
