Hello Samantha,
When I think of May, a myriad of things come to mind, including the beautiful possibilities life has in store for us. May is the foundation of renewal and joy, the dawn of new life, the birth of new blessings, the start of new changes, and the liberation from what was, unearthing all these new possibilities. May ushers us into a new season where we can start anew, planting our seeds so that we may witness their blossoming. Often, we overlook our roots, underestimating their strength and resilience, and how they've weathered the cold seasons and tough times to sprout once more; our roots are our foundation that aids our growth to flourish, die to be reborn each year. We can start afresh and let go of habits, people, places, and things that no longer serve us. Read More.

Congratulations, Aumani, on a Master of Public Health
We would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to our Queen Aumani Harris, who recently graduated from Emory University with a Master's in Public Health. Aumani’s dedication to public health has earned her a fellowship at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), where she will continue to grow and learn in this critical field. In her role as an ORISE Fellow in the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, Aumani will be involved in workforce development initiatives. This experience will provide her with invaluable insights into the intersection of public health practice, research, and policy at the federal level. Cheers to you, Queen!

"Birth of an Artist" in Full Effect | |
We are thrilled to announce that our Birth of an Artist youth development program is in full swing! This month, we had the pleasure of welcoming Teka Jones, founder of Strong Young Minds, and Kahli Hernandez, also known as Artoonist, to lead our sessions.
The youth had the opportunity to learn about business, public speaking, and entrepreneurship through a mock Shark Tank exercise with Teka.
Kahli then guided the participants in developing their creative skills with a series of quick drawing exercises. We concluded his session with a mock auction, where the girls named their pieces, described the motivation behind their artwork, and put them up for sale.
Stay connected with our youth development efforts by visiting our website. We look forward to showcasing the incredible work of our young artists at the end of the program!

Frank Robinson Retirement Celebration
This month, our Queen Jazmine and Samantha joined in celebrating the retirement of the esteemed community leader, Frank Robinson. Alongside other community leaders, they eagerly reflected on the remarkable contributions and enduring legacy Frank has established through his leadership, visionary spirit, and kind heart.
In recognition of his significant impact, May 29th has been declared Frank Robinson Day in the City of Springfield. He has also received citations and proclamations from the Governor's Office, State Representatives, Senators, and a Congressman, acknowledging his influence at the highest levels of government. Listen to how Frank reflect on his nearly 30 years of service here.
