'Kindle in them the fire of your love'
|
May 20 is Pentecost Sunday, one of our favorite days in the Church calendar. It’s the fulfillment of Easter Sunday, and it is the wellspring of the spiritual “energy” we need to fulfill the Great Commission that Jesus gives us in Matthew 28 -- a commission that Catholic authors live out in every word they write.
Pope Francis said, in his message for Pentecost in 2016: “The Spirit, as Saint Paul says, unites us to Christ: ‘Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him’ (Rom 8:9). Strengthening our relationship of belonging to the Lord Jesus, the Spirit enables us to enter into a new experience of fraternity. By means of our universal Brother – Jesus – we can relate to one another in a new way; no longer as orphans, but rather as children of the same good and merciful Father. And this changes everything! We can see each other as brothers and sisters whose differences can only increase our joy and wonder at sharing in this unique fatherhood and brotherhood.”
What a wonderful fraternity we have – as part of the family of Christ, as part of the family of writers striving to share the Good News!
“
Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and we shall be created. And You shall renew the face of the earth.”
How can we help you share the Good News of Christ? Let us know by emailing Cathy at

Rebecca is a nerdy Catholic, book addict, Shakespeare fangirl, cat lover, amateur baker and musician.
She graduated from Christendom College, worked for the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist, and freelanced as a copy editor and proofreader, before jumping at the chance to embrace her dream job and return to her Indiana roots.
In addition to unleashing her fountain pen as OSV’s new Associate Editor, she also works with the Catholic Writers’ Guild and manages the Catholic Writers Conference Live.
Her current hobbies are studying German (just because) and destroying other people’s diets through homemade baked goods [
Ed. note: Her colleagues appreciate this].

Then, read our webcast how-to (with video!) on the Author Toolkit web site
here.
Next, send Tracy an email at
tstewart@osv.com and talk to her about a webcast of your own.
