CareFirst Wellness Associates of Oklahoma has one of the best in the industry overseeing operations, please meet our Oklahoma Director of Operations, Shaunna Baxley. 

Ms. Baxley, originally from Ada, Oklahoma is a long-time Chickasha resident and has been working at CareFirst Wellness Associates - Chickasha for the last 5 years in various roles. Prior to being promoted to Director of Operations, Shaunna serves as the Accounts Payable Manager steering a financial ship that included 4 clinic sites and a hospital. 

The goal of operations managers in healthcare is to streamline costs and obtain funding to maintain adequate levels and provide quality healthcare services. With more than 20 years of finance management and accounting experience, Ms. Baxley and her team at CareFirst have been able to exceed clinical expectations for our areas of Oklahoma, all of which are designated as critical "healthcare professional shortage areas".

As Director of Operations, Shaunna tends to have long work weeks, but when not at work, Ms. Baxley enjoys the good ole Oklahoma tradition of going to the lake and spending quality time with family and friends.

Clinic Makeover - CFWA - Chickasha

Like something straight out of HGTV, CareFirst Wellness Associates - Chickasha location has been getting an extreme makeover to its more than 60,000 square foot building. Prior to being purchased by Family Medicine Physician Dr. Haresh Boghara and CareFirst Medical Management out of Dallas, TX, the large medical building had been home to the Southern Plains Medical Center since the late 1960s and for the most part, has mostly stayed the same on the inside and out!

After ensuring operational excellence and the highest quality of care to our patients, major building needs and renovations were high on Dr. Boghara's list of improvements to the multi-specialty clinic in Chickasha. Investing hundreds of thousands of dollars into the clinic and community, Dr. Boghara's team has replaced multiple heating & air systems, changed out ALL flooring in the 96 exam room building, as well finished out the brand NEW SPMC ambulatory surgery center. New LED lighting, furnishings, and more are all scheduled for completion in 2022. 

The CareFirst Wellness Associates team believes in having a nice clean and up-to-date facility adds to the experience of both patients and employees alike and leads to better healthcare outcomes. Helping guide these transformative improvements is our Building and Properties Manager, Mr. Riley Parr.  

Riley is originally from the OKC & Chickasha areas and is a graduate of Oklahoma State University. With more than 30 years of experience, Mr. Parr is skilled in all land, property, and facility management and was previously the Ranch and Home Manager for Dream Walkin Farms (Tobey Keith's house & ranch). Riley has been with CareFirst Wellness Associates for close to 2 years, overseeing all clinic buildings and properties, in Pauls Valley, Chickasha, and Anadarko. 

"Knowing that we will meet all standards and requirements no matter the challenges ahead of us, is what drives me daily," Riley said. "I understand the importance our team plays in the lives of our community, and both our patients and employees are going. to have the nicest and best-maintained facilities in the state to take care of patients."

Riley can most often be found at the Chickasha Clinic location, however in the rare moments not at work, Riley enjoys relaxing, spending time on the family farm, and getting some rounds of golf in.
