Village Hosts Barrington Art Festival May 27-28
Get ready to enjoy the Barrington Art Festival this Saturday and Sunday, May 27-28 from 10:00 am-5:00 pm in the Village of Barrington. Veterans of LBS Host Memorial Weekend Events
The Veterans of Lake Barrington Shores (LBS) will host a Memorial 5K Race on Sunday, May 28 at 8:00 am at the Market Place Shopping Center in Lake Barrington. For details CLICK HERE. They also invite everyone, especially area active-duty military, veterans and veteran families, to their annual Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, May 29 at 11:00 am in the Memorial Garden at LBS. Service members, veterans and their families are invited to SOUL Harbour Ranch for SOUL-FUL connections this Sunday, May 28 at 10:30 am, followed by a BBQ from 11:00 am-1:00 pm. at 22093 N. BACC Hosts Virtual Nonprofit Meeting on June 7
All local non-profit organizations are invited to join BACC for a virtual check-in meeting on Wednesday, June 7 from 10:00-11:00 am to share ideas, resources, and inspiration. Participants will be invited to talk about their recent highlights and upcoming events, as well as their challenges and the solutions that have worked. NAMI Lunch & Learn: Workplace Mental Health June 8
The National Alliance on Mental Illness Barrington Chapter (NAMI) will host a Lunch & Learn program about “Mental Health in the Workplace” on Thursday, June 8 from 12:00-1:15 pm at the Chamber office. Discover how to recognize symptoms of mental health issues, where to look for help, and gain a better understanding on how mental health issues affect the workplace. Outdoor Concert Series at The Arb Starts June 21
The Arboretum of South Barrington has announced the lineup for its Summer Wickstrom Lincoln Concert Series, which begins on Wednesday, June 21 from 6:30-9:00 pm with Recaptured (Infinity Band). The FREE outdoor concerts are held through Aug. 30 at the Main Street Plaza stage between Georgio’s Pizzeria and Mago Grill. Guests are invited to bring blankets or chairs and enjoy takeout from any Arboretum restaurant. Elgin Symphony Orchestra names New Music Director
The Elgin Symphony Orchestra has named Chad Goodman as its new music director following a two-year international search that included a pool of nearly 100 applicants. Goodman is the fifth music director for the award-winning Symphony and will preside over the ESO’s 74th season, which opens Oct. 7. “We are thrilled to welcome Chad to the ESO. He brings a wealth of experience and talent to the ESO along with an infectious energy and enthusiasm that we look forward to sharing with the community,” said Marc Thayer, CEO of ESO. For details CLICK HERE.
