Sooner than we thought, the new OCR Title IX regulations will be released, and a compliance deadline will be set. Some sources suggest an OCR release at the end of June, with an August implementation requirement, but a fall release seems more likely according to the most recent intel. But, since we really don't know, we don't want to wait to set up the task forces, working groups, and Title IX teams that will be needed by schools and campuses to achieve compliance.
ATIXA is ready now to help guide your decision-makers on the process of moving toward compliance with the new standards and can guide you toward best practices even as OCR shifts the industry standards that form the floor of compliance.
But, won’t the regs tell us what we need to do? Good heavens, no! The regs will create as many questions as they answer, and who wants to aim for the base expectations of compliance when the real goal is the ceiling of programmatic excellence? We have to work with some of OCR’s political views on Title IX, but there are other areas we will want to work around. An expert can guide you on how to establish a model program within OCR parameters, and how to go beyond them.
