Leaders from all congregations are encouraged to participate in this important training on Saturday, November 14 at FCC in Plattsburg. The session runs from 10am to 1:30pm and includes lunch. Stronger. Better. Together..

A message from Associate Regional Minister David Woodard.

Around this time of year, many congregations are preparing to adopt an operating budget for the new year. Let’s be honest, it’s the one part of ministry no one ever really gets excited for. That might be because most of us wonder if we will have enough resources to support our ministries, let alone keep our doors open. But here’s the rub – we are not alone!

We can try to do everything ourselves, but we probably won’t get very far. Can one congregation in Springfield fund our Global Mission Partners? Could a church in Hannibal provide scholarships to the hundreds of students attending Disciple colleges, universities, and seminaries? Can a church in St. Louis provide all the support needed for regional ministry? I think you know the answer. And that’s precisely why we have the Disciples Mission Fund.

The Disciples Mission Fund is how our congregations and mission partners join hands with other Disciples to make a difference beyond our own walls. Through our gifts, we help support new churches, educate future ministers, strengthen congregations, promote justice, and share God's inclusive love throughout the world. It is one way we live out our calling to be a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world.

As you and your congregations prepare your 2027 budget, would you please consider adding $10 more per month to what you already give to DMF? That’s only $120 for the year. If your congregation cannot afford it, perhaps someone in your church can step up and make the contribution.

The Disciples Mission Fund. It’s one thing that connects us in our covenant relationship with Disciples around the world. It brings us together to be a stronger, better movement for wholeness in a fragmented world.

Reimagining Evangelism

Don't miss this wonderful opportunity to join Phillips Theological Seminary President Dr. F. Douglas Powe, Jr. as we explore a different way of thinking about evangelism!

Together, we’ll discover practical ways to build relationships, invite others into community, listen deeply, and find meaningful ways to share the good news through how we live and serve. This workshop is designed for clergy, laity, and church leaders as an opportunity to help us to move beyond traditional approaches to evangelism.

The event is bought to us by our Rural Ministry Network and Phillips Theological Seminary. It will be hosted by FCC in Eldon on Saturday, November 7 from 9:30 to 2:30. The gathering, including lunch, is free but registration is required. Learn more and register today>

Faith in Action: A Survey for Disciples Congregtions

How does your congregation help people grow as followers of Jesus? Faith in Action is a research study of discipleship in Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) congregations across North America. It explores how churches hold spiritual formation, justice, and leadership together. The survey takes about 8 minutes and is open through Friday, November 20. Congregations of every size and context are welcome, including those without a formal discipleship program. Learn more and find the survey here>
