Moderator Williams Ordained

On Saturday, April 18 our Regional Moderator Rev. Charles Williams was ordained at Clarksville Christian Church where he serves as pastor. He is pictured above in the "laying on of hands" as supporters pray for him and his continuing ministry. He is third from left in the photo below. Congratulations!

DW Living the Abundant Life

Our Disciples Women had a great time last weekend at Community CC in Jefferson City. On Friday night the tornado sirens forced a change of location (to the inside hallway), but not a change in energy for their open mic night. There was laughter and joy - amazing!

Saturday was incredible with many ladies sharing their stories, Lizzy Wolf recounting her experience in Kenya, and a lovely lunch served by the helpful husbands of two participants. Everyone received a gift bag and a door prize. This was a long overdue in-person time together!

Pastor Lee Sandwell Installed

Pastor Lee Sandwell was installed at First Christian Church in Bolivar this past Sunday. He is pictured here (center) with Associate Regional Ministers Rev. Jennifer Long and Rev. Dr. Tommy Goode. Congratulations to pastor and congregation!

Frankford FCC Eases Medical Debt Burden

This year, for their annual Lenten project benefiting Undue Medical Debt, Frankford First Christian Church raised more than $1,000 through their Children's Coin March and special offerings! In the hands of this incredible organization, the donation will be used to abolish more than $179,000 in medical debt for low-income families in Warren, Franklin, St. Charles and St. Louis counties right here in Missouri.

Over the last three years, the congregation has wiped away a total of $408,000 in medical debt for low-income Missourians!

Looking for a Mission Trip?

First Christian Church in Columbia invites you to their service-mission trip this summer! Beginning in 2022, FCC has developed a partnership with a neighborhood restoration ministry in Evansville, IN, and will be returning for the third time to continue working on long-term issues of housing justice. They have space to include a small number of interested students, aged 14 through 22, from other churches in the region. The plan includes indoor/outdoor manual labor, light construction, cooking/serving meals for chronically unhoused folk, and lots of learning and fun! They will leave from Columbia the morning of May 24th and return the evening of May 30th (Sun to Sat). They ask for a chaperone to accompany up to four students (for those under 18 years old), and $150/per person (which covers all but one meal, housing, transportation, and a trip to Holiday World). For further information, please contact Associate Minister Topher Endress.

From the Wider Church

This coming week's Global Ministries prayer request is for Indonesia.

Pentecost Offering for New Church

On Pentecost, the Spirit did not stay in one place. It moved outward — across every barrier people believed separated them. In that moment, a new kind of community was born, shaped by courage, generosity, and love. That same Spirit is still moving today.

In a world where many people feel uncertain, divided, or disconnected from one another, the Church is called to be a different kind of presence.

The Pentecost Offering supports New Church Ministry and our Region in nurturing emerging and affiliating faith communities. Your gift helps these communities.

Thanks for keeping in touch!
