Republic FCC Reaching Out

Republic First Christian loves its seniors. In partnership with our Silver Chalice Team and our Outreach Committee, the church began a ministry that provides food to seniors living at or below the poverty level. This ministry is made possible through partnerships with Ozarks Food Harvest, Feeding America, and the Department of Social Services’ Food Distribution Unit.

Through this outreach, the church has built meaningful relationships with those served, and they are sharing this good news with others. Because of these growing connections, the church will also begin providing a monthly Friday evening meal for seniors starting this month.

Voices of Arrow Rock April 4

Arrow Rock Federated Church continues their partnership with Voices of Arrow Rock, a readers theatre series that brings to life the stories of forgotten and underrepresented people. Their next performance is 𐓏𐓘𐓯𐓪𐓯𐓟 (Brave), which tells the story of Me-ho’n-ga, a young Osage woman, who in 1827 embarks on an extraordinary journey from her home near Arrow Rock. All are welcome to attend this free event. Mid-America clergy can utilize this opportunity to renew their anti-racism training. Learn more>

Holy Conversations

Associate Regional Minister Rev. David Woodard offers a reflection on the importance of holy conversations. Below is an excerpt; read his whole message here>

Holy conversations allow us to express what we feel and think, and challenge us to respect and listen to others who feel and think the same or even differently. In short, we’ve sacrificed conversation in order to avoid conflict. The sad reality is that if we had been communicating all along we would have, more than likely, avoided conflict.

“All are welcome at the table, and all means all!” This extends to the covenant table, the conversation table, the minority-views table. As Disciples, nothing should be off the conversation table. Maybe bringing wholeness to a fragmented world needs to begin there.

Lift Every Voice

Our Disciples National Convocation is sharing interviews on the third day of every month through the mid-term elections in November. Their purpose is Raising Faith, Resisting Injustice, and Reimagining the Future. In February's dialog, Convocation Administrative Secretary Rev. Dr. Delesslyn Kennebrew explores race, politics, faith, and justice. Find the recording here>

Disciples Men News

The Long Way Together is a new monthly online men’s book study hosted through Disciples Home Missions and gathering in the Disciples Leadership Network. This is a space for men to read thoughtfully, reflect honestly, and engage in meaningful conversation about masculinity and discipleship. We will gather online on the first Thursday of the month (except for April, when we will meet on the last Thursday of March due to Holy Week) at 7 p.m. The book list can be found on the Disciples Leadership Network or on the DHM website.

Pathway to Blessing is a three-part Bible study series designed to help men explore what it means to live faithfully, authentically, and courageously in today’s world. Each eight-session study creates a safe space for honest conversation, reflection, and spiritual practice rooted in scripture. Adaptable for local congregations, online groups, or regional cohorts, these studies help men connect faith with daily life, build community across generations, and take practical steps that bless others.
