A Message from Our Moderator

Our Regional Moderator Rev. Charles Williams serves as the Senior Pastor at Clarksville Christian Church. He shares this message about his work and how he was led to
Mid-America.

After I relocated to Missouri, I attended a couple of Disciples churches and found solace in their worship without the legalistic traditions of the Baptist denomination, which appealed to me. I had no idea that this was God’s divine intervention in my life to move me from the East Coast to the Midwest to serve him in the capacities that he behests me.

My journey from the pews to the pulpit was new to me. I went from doing children's sermons on Sundays to being nominated as a deacon, serving on the church board, and eventually serving as president of the board for two years. I provided pulpit supply to three churches in two counties, and I am the Senior Pastor of one. I was elected Regional Moderator in 2024 and currently serve with enthusiasm and honor; it is the highlight of my spiritual journey. I have an undergraduate degree in business and am currently finishing my master's in theology at Lexington Seminary in Lexington, Kentucky.
