Don't miss your chance to be a General Assembly host congregation!

The year has arrived where our wider church connects more frequently, meeting this summer and next. This means that expenses for trips, hotels and meals to a distant city are not needed. Our 2026 General Assembly will be using an online platform when we gather July 10-11. We are delighted that it is now easier and more accessible for all to attend, including each congregation's three voting delegates. (Church boards, please name your delegates and have them register!)

Disciples may participate at General Assembly at home but the intent is still to experience the fun and excitement of gathering with other Disciples to experience the worship, sharing, and business together. We are asking for a number of host congregations, geographically spread out across our region so every Mid-America Disciple will only have to drive, say and hour and a half or less. Technicians will enable you to be an upload site for the platform, meaning you have download access for all the action but will have a live microphone for speakers present to address the plenary session from your location as well. The "family reunion" feel can still be intact.

Please see the regional minister in Virginia's discovery as he tested the system.

"I had so much fun working and testing with 9 of my 22 congregations that have jumped at the chance to be host congregations. All I had to do was ask and do a remote test with them. They all know how to do this and just needed to give it a try and boy did it encourage them. They talked to me and each other through their tech hosting locations and instantly saw that this is about more than just being ready for the GA. Tonight the group talked about instantly sharing in a pulpit exchange or doing a book study or some kind of study and resource sharing together. I could feel the excitement in the room." Blessings BSD

Please contact the regional office if you can host and to participate in the upcoming trainingThanks to Affton Christian Church in St. Louis who have joined Olivet CC in Columbia and Frankford Christian Church in the northeast for saying yes!

Sacred Resistance

As the news shares images and videos from Minneapolis, Chicago, and other cities in the United States, Bible verses have been shared by Christians across the theological and political spectrum. Some have been used to uphold federal orders, and others to encourage compassion, mercy, and welcome. Join Minister of New Church Strategies Rev. Dr. Jose Martinez and guests Rev. Dr. Jia Starr Brown and Rev. Tanya Lopez on February 25 at 2:00 PM (TODAY!) as New Church Ministry discusses what is happening and what our response can be as Disciples of Christ. Register here>
