Prayer Requests

Please pray for Woodson Chapel Christian Church's Pastor George Morey as he recovers from recent surgery for a broken back. He was glad to be able to preach again as of last Sunday, but is still taking things slowly.

Please join us in praying for retired Rev. Bill Nichols, and his wife Becky, as they explore his treatment options following his recent cancer diagnosis.

Please hold in prayer the family of Disciples Rev. Steve Westbrook who passed away last week. He had been serving as the pastor of St. John's UCC in High Hill. A memorial service may be planned in the future, but donations can be made in his honor to Isaiah 58 Ministries.

Safe Sanctuary Training November 14

As a community of faith, we must be committed to creating and maintaining programs, facilities, and a community in which members, friends, staff and volunteers can worship, learn, and work together in an atmosphere free from all forms of discrimination, harassment, exploitation, or intimidation.

Leaders from all congregations are encouraged to participate in this important training on Saturday, November 14 at FCC in Plattsburg. The session runs from 10am to 1:30pm and includes lunch. The registration fee is only $20 per congregation, no matter how many from each church attend. Learn more and register by November 11>

Conversation Café November 17

Can't make it to Eldon this Saturday? You're in luck! Phillips Theological Seminary president Rev. F Douglas Powe, Jr. will be sharing his message Reimagining Evangelism: How adept is your congregation in connecting to the community? online. Rev. Derrick L. Perkins, Director for Congregational Vitality & Innovation with Disciples Home Missions (and Mid-American!), will host the presentation. Learn more and register>

Honoring Loss & Joy During the Holidays - November 18

Naming sadness and finding ways to honor it can bring joy back to life. In this free virtual webinar, co-leaders [Mid-America's own!] Rev. Lina Eddy, pastor and Silver Chalice Guide, and Rev. Kimberly Weir, chaplain and Executive Director of Florida Senior Enrichment Center, will gently guide you on a journey of sharing about the challenges of the holidays, ways to find comfort in busy days, and invite you to share your thoughts. Suggestions for a “Blue Christmas” worship service will also be presented.

Ozark CC Announces Night to Shine 2027!

Ozark Christian Church is thrilled to announce that they have been selected to host Night to Shine, sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation, on Friday, February 12, 2027! This unforgettable prom night experience celebrates individuals with special needs, ages 14 and older, reminding each honored guest that they are loved, valued, and wonderfully made in God's image. They are excited to partner with community organizations, businesses, and volunteers to create an evening filled with joy, laughter, dancing, friendship, and unforgettable memories. The goal is to welcome 75 honored guests and surround them with the love and encouragement they deserve. The congregation believes that ministry is about more than what happens inside the church building on Sunday mornings—it's about sharing the love of Christ with the entire community. All are invited to join in making this a night where everyone shines!

Thanksgiving Special Offering for Higher Education November 15 & 22

The Thanksgiving Offering benefits the Colleges, Universities, Seminaries, and Divinity Houses affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Higher education has been an important focus for Disciples since the very beginning of the movement. Throughout our history, Disciples have founded institutions of higher learning to educate students and form leaders to make a difference in the world. The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is still committed to higher education. Your gift to the Thanksgiving Offering helps support the education of thousands of students at our fifteen colleges and universities as well as our seven seminaries and divinity houses.
