This session will teach participants how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance abuse challenges among adults.

'Amy Shower' at Faith CC

Brides and expectant mothers are often 'showered' with gifts to help them as they transition into their new life. At Faith Christian Church in Buffalo, they also 'shower' gifts, help, and love on a member who had lost her home to fire earlier this year and made it out with just the clothes on her back.

The church has been helping along but last week had what they called an " Amy Shower" to recognize her struggle, her resilience, and the power of a church family. At the soup and sandwich luncheon she received household gifts, bedding, gift cards, money to help, and also a check from Week of Compassion. Pastor Jennifer Long reminded the congregation that the gifts that anyone makes to the Week of Compassion are used to help in so many ways! She shared, "We are thankful that we have Amy and she is healthy and adjusting!

Thank you to a wonderful congregation and thank you to our wonderful denomination and Week of Compassion."

DCEF’s Maintenance Guide to Preparing your Property for Spring

We’re enjoying the longer days and warmer weather, but winter’s departure brings a new host of maintenance issues that need to be addressed before welcoming spring. To aid in your work, Disciples Church Extension Fund (DCEF) has compiled this printable checklist that includes suggestions for maintaining your church's roof, yard, parking lot, and general facilities.
