Deep Dives: Introducing the Deep Dive, a new double-session format designed to explore intricate and crucial topics. Join us for this intensive series that presents advanced-level information on the complexities of two hot topics, "The Co-Morbidity of Mental Health and Autism" and "Teaching Advanced Verbal Behavior to Children Using Speech-Generating Devices" , led by experts in their fields. Attendees are encouraged to participate in both back-to-back sessions to gain the most benefit. Be Empowered Art Exhibit: Be a part of Milestones’ first art exhibit ! We will be exhibiting the work of artists on the spectrum including amateurs, young artists, as well as professionals, all sharing their passion for art. Milestones is now seeking artists on the spectrum who create visual, two-dimensional art to be showcased at the Milestones National Autism Conference. Applications to exhibit artwork will be accepted through May 15, 2019. Apply by filling out this form and following the submission instructions.

H.O.M.E. (Housing Options Mixer and Exhibit) Event, June 11, 1:45pm-4:15pm : Learn about the array of existing and emerging housing models & options for individuals with ASD . Hear from from other parents who successfully moved their adult children out, meet housing providers that can support you and start to plan for yourself or your child’s forever home!

Michelle Garcia Winner Book Signing, June 11, 12:45pm-1:15pm: Meet world-renowned speaker Michelle Garcia Winner, CCC-SLP, and have her sign a copy of your favorite title.

Mix and Mingle, June 11, 4:15pm-6:00pm: Relax after a day of learning at this new social event for all attendees! Enjoy light refreshments and cocktails as you spend time with friends, colleagues and some of your favorite speakers.

As Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Coordinator, Salina helps Milestones more effectively reach out to, partner with, and serve all people affected by autism across our programs. Salina is the proud mother of two sons and is the founder of Mother 2 Mother which runs support groups for mothers of special needs children. She previously worked at The Word Church in an administrative capacity and as a Parent Rep for Warrensville Heights Schools.

Ask the Expert - Depression and ASD: Why is It So Hard?
The unfortunate reality is a large percentage of individuals with ASD are also diagnosed with a mental health disorder. With this comes a critical need for efficient assessment and treatment for the autism community. Cara Marker Daily, PhD, BCBA, will be addressing this in the "The Co-Morbidity of Mental Health and Autism" Deep Dive series at the Milestones Conference on June 11, and shares a sneak peek into her topic of the relationship between depression and autism on the blog this month.
