DEBATE NEWS

The Washburn Debate Team had an outstanding season this year, both on the local and national circuits! Novice debaters consistently placed in the top handful of teams at each of the local tournaments, both as individual teams (2 students per team) as well as earning recognition for their individual speaker points. To end the season, Washburn had two teams (four students) qualify for the state tournament that took place at the University of Minnesota. Lily Endo and Luke Peichel took fourth place overall, and Grace Klage and Alex Dresdner placed second. Minnesota Policy Debate is highly competitive, and Washburn's students had an excellent showing throughout the whole year. Very proud of all of our Miller Debaters!
WINTER DANCE

80's Dance
The WINTER DANCE is coming!! It will be an 80's theme and open to all grades. We're excited to be heading to downtown Minneapolis for this dance. However, parking will be available near the venue.

WHERE - Muse Event Center (107 3rd Ave N Minneapolis)

STAFF SPOTLIGHT

Jason Morzenti, Social Studies Teacher
Jason Morzenti is a great option for the honor of staff of the week. Jason teaches geography and is known for making it quite interesting and easy to digest for a lot of students. Moreover, he also does a great job of incorporating things from popular culture into his lessons. He is skilled at providing accommodations for kids who need additional support. He's also a great listener. Thanks for jumping into Washburn with such a high commitment level!
