2/23  Site Council Meeting @ 4:30-6:00pm

Last week Washburn's Latino club got up in front of Southwest HS students and did a great presentation for their Race 2 Justice Day.  They shared a bit of their own culture through a game, and also challenged students to see stereotypes, cultural appropriation and the objectification of women in media messages. Way to go Lideres de Acion (Kailleen, Danna, Karina, and Mayra)!

Mark LeFeber, CTE Engineering Teacher
This staff member of the week leads an amazing (all too rare) hands-on program here at Washburn. If you walk by his room after school there are ALWAYS students hanging out and working on some amazing engineering/robotics projects well past 4 pm.  His level of commitment to students is truly admirable. He has been honored as a top educator in our area for being an instrumental part of the top-notch engineering program at Washburn.  CONGRATS Mark  L e F e b e r !
