December 20, 2010 "Every piece of the universe, even the tiniest little snow crystal, matters somehow. I have a place in the pattern, and so do you...Thinking of you this holiday season!"-- T.A. Barron Happy Monday before Christmas! I stumbled across an old video last week, and although it is over and hour long, it is definitely worth watching. You can find it on YouTube here: "The Last Lecture" is when, "On September 18th, 2007, computer science professor Randy Pausch stepped in front of an audience of 400 people at Carnegie Mellon University to deliver a last lecture called "Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams." With slides of his CT scans beaming out to the audience, Randy told his audience about the cancer that is devouring his pancreas and that will claim his life in a matter of months. On the stage that day, Randy was youthful, energetic, handsome, often cheerfully, darkly funny. He seemed invincible. But this was a brief moment, as he himself acknowledged.
Randy's lecture has become a phenomenon, as has the book he wrote based on the same principles, celebrating the dreams we all strive to make realities. Sadly, Randy lost his battle to pancreatic cancer on July 25th, 2008, but his legacy will continue to inspire us all, for generations to come."
On a real estate note, this December I have been servicing a lot of commercial clients who are looking to expand their operations. I am representing an ice cream shop, a car lot, and a t-shirt vendor who are all looking to rent space. I'm especially excited about the ice cream store!
If you know of any business owners who are looking to move out of their home, or open an additional location, please send me their name and number. Now is the time to secure a lease because lease rates are very low, and can be locked in for 3 to 5 years, or more. The clients I work with are saving money when we negotiate free and reduced rent, as well as help with build out costs.
Merry Christmas, Happy Kwanzaa, Happy Hannukah, or whatever makes you happy!
Sincerely, Kristin
