Greetings Marianna!

A heartfelt THANK YOU to our amazing clients, family, and friends who helped us celebrate CURO Wealth Management’s 10th Birthday! 🎉 With over 100 guests joining us, we are incredibly grateful for your support. 🙏

It was wonderful to see so many of you and spend time together outside the office. We hope you enjoyed the beautiful surroundings at Grounds for Sculpture as much as we did. You truly made the day unforgettable! Here is to another decade of health, peace, and making dreams come true. We’re also excited to share some great photos captured by both us and many of you—please keep them coming!

If you haven’t had the chance to meet the friendly voice behind CURO’s office calls, allow me to introduce Errica Nelson! Here's a little insight into Errica and the valuable work she does at CURO!

Meet Errica!

As we move into October (really?!!) , we'd like to highlight two important awareness initiatives:

National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

This month is dedicated to promoting the screening and prevention of breast cancer, a disease that affects so many of us personally. CURO proudly supports this cause through our annual Community Shredding Event, where we collect donations for Unite For Her making a significant impact on those affected by the disease. See the information below to help us spread the word and consider donating to support their important work.

National Cybersecurity Awareness Month

In today's world, cybersecurity is more important than ever. Every day we hear about organizations facing cyberattacks, and many of you have asked how to protect yourselves against this growing threat. Below, you’ll find a short article with tips, along with details on a discounted cybersecurity monitoring service through Commonwealth Financial that’s available to our clients. Be sure to take advantage of this offer!

Lastly, we wish everyone a fun and safe Halloween! 🎃

Help Us Secure Our World this Cybersecurity Awareness Month

Cybersecurity Awareness Month is an international initiative that educates everyone about online safety and empowers individuals and businesses to protect their data from cybercrime. This initiative reminds us that there are simple actions we can take every day to protect ourselves, our families, and businesses from online threats.

1. Password tips: Use strong passwords with the help of a password manager such as 1Password.

2. Monitor, Monitor, Monitor: If you aren’t already enrolled in a credit monitoring program, we strongly recommend doing so. Commonwealth partners with Identity Guard to offer you discounted subscriptions.

3. Recognize and don't click phishing emails. We recommend printing and following this practical guide to prevent phishing

Phishing avoidance.

4. Freeze your credit: A credit freeze restricts access to your credit report. If you suspect your personal information or identity was stolen, placing a credit freeze can help protect you from fraud.

Insights From Our CIO: Market Thoughts October 2024

Commonwealth CIO Brad McMillan recaps September’s market and economic news. It was a solid month for investors, as falling interest rates supported healthy market returns. The S&P 500 and Dow set new all-time highs, while the Nasdaq got close. Still, risks remain. In the U.S., the primary concern is slower growth, as shown by cracks in the labor market. While the Fed’s attempts to support the economy by cutting rates are helpful, a further hiring slowdown could spook investors. Political risks are also rising with the upcoming elections. What does this all mean for the path ahead? Stay tuned and follow Brad at blog.commonwealth.com/independent-market-observer.
