Hello Marianna,

Every day seems to move faster and it’s hard to believe that November is already here! But time is what we make of it, and my team and I have been diligent in finding the balance between work and play with many fun Fall adventures.

First, some REALLY exciting news! 🎉 Our own Samantha (lovingly referred to by many as Sam), passed her CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER exam on Halloween, after diligently studying behind the scenes for many months. Way to go Sam! Please feel free to congratulate her next time you see or talk to her.

Samantha and Melanie attended Commonwealth Financial Network’s annual National Conference in Colorado and learned about the updates being made to the Investor360 mobile app, which will be launched in 2024. I spent some time bonding with my youngest in beautiful Majorca, Spain, gearing up for the chilly days ahead.

We also hosted a Long-Term Care webinar to answer all your questions about what Medicare will and will not cover, how you can safeguard your assets in the event of a long-term care event, and when to begin planning for your own Long-Term Care. Thank you to everyone who attended, and please reach out if you have any questions.

Next up, end of year planning. Before setting the table for your Thanksgiving feast with your loved ones, set up your finances for the end of the year. Below you will find an End of Year Checklist to help you get organized to head into the New Year plus a few quick articles on Social Security and Medicare to help you prep for 2024. In the month of December, we will be reviewing all accounts for tax harvesting and other year-end opportunities and will be in touch if needed.

And lastly, please keep an eye out for a short end-of-year survey to learn more about how we can help you achieve your personal and financial goals.

Wishing you health, wealth, happiness, and a wonderful holiday season! 🦃

Until next time,

Marianna

Insights From Our CIO: Market Thoughts

November 2023

Brad McMillan, Commonwealth’s CIO, recaps October’s market and economic news. U.S. indices were down for the third consecutive month, with the Nasdaq doing the worst. International markets also pulled back, and fixed income was down. Despite the market performance, job growth remained healthy, consumer income and spending grew, and retail sales increased. And while the housing market will pull inflation down, improvement there may be slowing. Will interest rates stabilize as we head into November? Stay tuned to find out.
