October Highlights: Together, We’re Making

an Impact!

Education Foundation Donates $50,180 to Support Innovative Teacher Grants

The Splendora ISD Education Foundation proudly presented a $50,180 donation to the district at the October School Board meeting to fund Innovative Educator Grants for the 2025–2026 school year.

This year, our teachers submitted over 60 grant applications, requesting more than $175,000 in funding—the highest participation in Foundation history! These grants empower educators to bring creative, hands-on learning opportunities to students through projects in STEM, literacy, fine arts, and more.

Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, event attendees, and payroll donors, these funds will make a lasting impact in classrooms across Splendora ISD—proving once again that when we invest in teachers, we invest in students.

Payroll Giving Campaign Update

A huge thank-you to all our Splendora ISD staff who have already joined this year’s Payroll Giving Campaign! So far, dozens of employees have committed to giving back a small portion of their paycheck each month — proving that together, small gifts can create big change.

“I donate to the Ed Foundation through our Employee Giving Campaign because I believe in the power of collective support. Every dollar, no matter the amount, contributes to enriching our students' educational experiences and supports our dedicated educators. It's not about how much you give, but the impact we make together.”

Men Who Cook Serves Up Success for Splendora ISD!

On October 18, the Splendora ISD Education Foundation hosted its signature fall fundraiser, Men Who Cook, at The Atrium Center — and it was an unforgettable evening of food, fun, and community spirit!

Twenty teams of local leaders, educators, and community members swapped their ties and tool belts for aprons, serving up creative dishes to compete for top honors while raising funds for innovative classroom grants, student scholarships, and district programs. Guests sampled appetizers, entrées, desserts, and beverages before voting for their favorites.

Winners included:

  • Best Appetizer: Team Rusty Buckle BBQ Company
  • Best Entrée: Team Supts Who Cook – Dr. Glenn Barnes (Superintendent, Cleveland ISD) & Dr. Dustin Bromley (Superintendent, Splendora ISD - pictured above)
  • Best Dessert: Team Boudin Ballers – Hallmark Mitigation & Construction, LLC
  • Best Drink: Team Dos Jungle Amigos
  • Best Theme: Kim & Tom Klepcyk

A lively auction featuring autographed music memorabilia, student-made projects, and unique experiences helped push total proceeds to over $62,000 — all benefiting Splendora ISD teachers and students.

Thank you to our sponsors, chef teams, volunteers, and attendees for helping us turn community support into educational excellence.

Together, we’re proving that when Splendora comes together, great things happen for our Wildcats!

Wildcat Pride Shines at Splendora’s First-Ever Homecoming Parade

What a night to remember! Splendora ISD hosted its first-ever Homecoming Parade last month, and we were so proud to be part of it!

A huge thank you to our incredible board members Jeff Burke, Lee Walker, and Jennifer Green for representing the Splendora Education Foundation with such Wildcat pride! 🙌

And a special shoutout to Brent Wells and Angela Canady for helping make it all happen — your support means the world!

Delivering Goodies to Teachers

This month, the Splendora Education Foundation made a special stop to celebrate our New Teacher Induction prize winners from this past summer! Congratulations to Monica Rymer at Timber Lakes Elementary and Maria David at Splendora Junior High, who each received a $10 Amazon voucher to help stock their classrooms with supplies. We also delivered a sweet treat surprise to Stephanie Halbert at Splendora Junior High — because every great teacher deserves a little something extra!

We couldn't do things like this without the support of our sponsors and donors! THANK YOU!
