RTPI Anniversary Season Video
It's been 90 years since the publication of the very first Peterson Field Guide. It's also been 40 years since the founding of the Roger Tory Peterson Institute.
To celebrate these milestone achievements, we created a short Anniversary Season Video featuring Lee Peterson, Roger's youngest son, RTPI board member, and, himself, the author of a field guide in the Peterson Field Guide Series: the Peterson Field Guide to Edible Wild Plants.
The video also features recent RTPI Resident Artists Lisa Mullen and Joseph Grice, along with our current RTPI Scholar-in-Residence, Dr. Jenn Lodi-Smith and her daughter, Maisie Hebrank, founder of the WNY Young Birders Club.

Bentley Preserve Birding Challenge
Winners to be Announced
Saturday, June 22, 9 am
World-traveling nature photographer Kevin Ebi reminds us that sometimes the most beautiful nature can be found in your own backyard. In his current exhibition at RTPI -- which closes July 21 -- he features a stunning image of the Bentley Preserve.
In 1933, Roger Tory Peterson mapped all the songbird nests at the Bentley Preserve. In partnership with the Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy, which owns and manages the site, we issued a challenge to birders to see how many different bird species they could find at the Bentley Preserve today.
We will announce the birding challenge winners on the same day we provide an update on the NYS Breeding Bird Atlas and celebrate RTPI's recent inclusion in the NYS Birding Trail. CLICK here for more program Information.
