We are thrilled to announce that RTPI has received a $30,000 general operations grant from the New York State Council on the Arts.

"A big thanks to Governor Hochul, Senator Borello, and Assemblyman Goodell," says CEO Arthur Pearson. "This grant is a big boost for RTPI -- it fuels our strategic plan goal of using Art that Matters to the Planet to help drive tourism to our community."

In her press statement, Governor Hochul added, "Research confirms that arts and culture are a powerhouse, with a staggering return on investment for our economy and our communities.”

Calling all birders, bird watchers and bird-curious to join us for this year's annual Great Backyard Bird Count.

On Friday, February 9, RTPI hosted an opening night reception for Broken Nature, an exhibition by artists from the North Shore Arts Alliance.

Curated by Alliance member Nancy Nixon Ensign, this exhibition features work by artists who envision a more sustainable future. Through their paintings, photography, and sculpture, they tell stories about our relationships with and interrelationships within the natural world. Their work encourages us to observe the world around us in new ways, and inspires us to change our thinking, our habits, and our lives in support of a healthier planet.

Broken Nature runs only through March 10, 2024. So, if you haven't yet seen it, make your plans to visit RTPI soon.

Our next Art After 5 is Friday, February 23, 5:30 to 7:30 pm, Our featured musical artist is Tim Britt.

Tim Britt comes to us from Buffalo, NY and is a crowd favorite at RTPI due to his extensive request list. You text it to him, he'll play it -- everything from the Beatles to Dave Matthews, to Johnny Cash, to AC/DC, to Whitney Houston, to Mumford & Sons.

To mix things up a bit, instead of our usual charcuterie spread, this month's Art After 5 will be a pizza party!

It's not too early to be buying your tickets for this year's Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour -- hosted by RTPI at the Reg Lenna Civic Center.

The dates are Friday and Saturday, April 19 and 20. Two nights. Two entirely different lineups of the world’s best mountain sport, culture, and environmental films.

"Last year, in response to audience demand, we doubled down on Banff," says David Niles, RTPI's recently-promoted Advancement Director. "Everyone wanted more films. More fun. More Banff. This year, we're hoping for an even bigger crowd."
