Enhanced Identity Verification

ITS works to protect ETSU and user account data by implementing security measures that help to prevent unauthorized access and data breaches. Recently, the ITS Help Desk created a process to add a level of security for identity verification when users contact the Help Desk for assistance. Campus users are asked to create and submit a passcode that will help verify your identity before any account changes are made. Technicians will ask you to provide the passcode, and then, along with other system information, they can confirm your identity. Contact the ITS Help Desk for more information.

End of Year Purchasing–Reminder for Tech Needs

With the Voyager implementation getting closer by the day, cutover activities have been implemented to ensure a successful transition. June 2 is an important date, as it is the final day to enter purchase orders into eBucs. Anyone with technological needs, such as requesting hardware or software, is encouraged to submit requests as early as possible to allow time for the approval process. Any request submitted close to the June 2 deadline may result in a delay, with purchasing pushed to the next fiscal year. Please contact Ray Webb at webbr@etsu.edu or 423-439-4145 with questions.

New Employee

Computers

Computing Technology Services is in the process of replacing computers that are over four years old as part of the Computer Replacement Project. Computers for new hires with new position numbers may also be requested if the employee has accepted the position. If you are a new employee, or if there is a label on your computer tower that is dated September 2021 or earlier and has an ETSU# beginning with 99, please visit the Computer Replacement Project page for additional information. This page outlines available computer options and provides links to request forms.

Microsoft will end support for Windows 10 on October 14, 2025. This summer, ITS will begin upgrading all PCs not yet running Windows 11. If your PC is included on the Devices Unable to Support Windows 11 list, it will need to be replaced. If it is not listed but you use specialized hardware or software and are worried that it won’t be supported by Windows 11, please contact the ITS Help Desk for guidance.

l-r: Macy, Leisa, and Rhonda

Behind every smooth operation at ITS, there’s a team of dedicated professionals making it happen. Today, we’re proud to highlight three key members of our department: Leisa serves as our Executive Aide, providing critical support to leadership and helping keep our projects and priorities on track. Her organization and attention to detail ensure we stay focused and moving forward. Rhonda, our Business Manager, keeps the financial and administrative side of ITS running smoothly. From budgeting to vendor management, she plays a vital role in making sure our resources are managed efficiently and responsibly. Macy, our Office Manager, is the friendly face and steady hand that keeps our daily operations flowing. She coordinates logistics, supports our CIO, and makes sure the office environment helps everyone do their best work. We’re grateful for Leisa, Rhonda, and Macy – their work behind the scenes makes a real difference every day.
