My travels around the state continue!

So far, I have had the opportunity to visit more than 30 of our provider-member communities. I look forward to seeing the rest of you in the coming months. It has been very rewarding to experience the diversity in membership (building styles, size of communities, services provided, levels of care and more). Even though our members may exhibit some differences, there are many consistencies when it comes to how you are impacted by current issues. Staffing challenges remains at the top of the list. Also, did you know - LeadingAge Indiana members share a typical staff vaccination rate of approximately 40%-65% and generally above 95% among residents. Additionally, I am learning more about your thoughts on Medicaid managed care, HCBS rebalancing, and other issues. That feedback is critical as I continue to communicate with state regulatory agencies.

During my visits, I am handing out blank canvases and asking each member-community to seek a resident or staff member to draw and/or paint a picture that represents something near and dear to your community. Once we have collected the finished artwork, we will be hanging the pieces around the LeadingAge Indiana offices – another way to show the pride we have in our members.

LeadingAge Indiana Recognizes 2021 Hall of Fame Recipient Bob Gibson

If you attended the LeadingAge Indiana Spring Conference in May, you most-likely participated in the annual awards program. If so, you heard some pretty impressive statistics on the impact one gentleman made to LeadingAge Indiana and the community he has served for many years. Once again, we congratulate Bob Gibson, Greencroft Communities, 2021 Hall of Fame Recipient.

The next time you are at the LAIN office, please take a look at the display that includes Bob’s plaque and the plaque awarded to the totality of the LAIN membership for their tireless efforts during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic.
