Ways to Celebrate

February is Library Lovers’ Month, “a month-long celebration of school, public, and private libraries of all types. This is a time for everyone, especially library support groups, to recognize the value of libraries and to work to assure that the Nation’s libraries will continue to serve.”*

Share Your Love for the Library
Leave a comment on a Facebook post, a Google Review, tell a friend about us (they can get a library card, too!), or drop us a note–spread the joy!

February Calendar Highlights
The Library WILL be open on Monday, February 20 during Presidents' Day.
Please remember that the Library's weather closings are independent of town & school announcements. When inclement weather requires us to close, we'll post the announcement on our Facebook Page, at goffstownlibrary.com, and we'll inform WMUR.
Through February 10

Adults and teens can participate in this fun activity and earn badges and digital raffle tickets for the chance to win fabulous prizes. Join the virtual Winter Reading Challenge at www.goffstownlibrary.com/beanstack, or download the Beanstack app.

1000 Books Before Kindergarten

The single most important thing you can do to prepare your children to read is to read to them every day. Research proves that children need to hear 1000 books before they begin to learn to read independently.

Reading to children will: increase their vocabulary, increase their listening and narrative skills, help to instill in them self-awareness and confidence, and impart an understanding of their place in the world.

For more information, including how to sign up, rewards, and an Early Literacy Practices for Parents download, please visit www.goffstownlibrary.com/1000books.

Building Addition

The Goffstown Public Library belongs to the community and that has been our focus for over 100 years.

The Library Board of Trustees has been working diligently behind the scenes to prepare for an addition to our historic building. The bond vote for the money to break ground and start construction has not been requested of the voters as of March 2022.
