Come Talk to Us! The Library Board of Trustees will host a Community Forum on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 1 p.m. at Stark Hall on Church Street. This is an opportunity to see the preliminary plans for an addition to the library building and ask questions about future services, planning, and facility. Jason LaCombe from SMP Architecture, will make a presentation and walk attendees through the plans, in addition to answering questions along with members of the Library Board of Trustees.

Foyer Browsing: Our foyer area is now open for browsing and check out of materials. You'll find a selection from all areas of the Library, mostly new materials, for kids, teens, and adults. Please call us at 497-2102 from the parking lot prior to entering, since we must limit the number of bodies in our space: one person or family unit at a time. You can still place requests remotely, and pick up contact-free, if you prefer.

Your returns are quarantined for 72 hours, and will not be checked in until after that quarantine period. When you check your account online at www.goffstownlibrary.com/account those materials will still appear in "Items Out" until they have been processed.

Computer Reservations: Call us at 497-2102 to make an appointment to use a computer. To keep Library staff and visitors safe, we are limiting the number of PCs in use, so your appointment length may be restricted.

Calendar Highlights
The History of Agriculture as Told by Barns
Tuesday, October 20 at 6:30 p.m.

This New Hampshire Humanities To Go Program is presented by John Porter, author of Preserving Old Barns.

According to Porter: "The evolution of barn architecture tells the story of New Hampshire agriculture. Barns changed from the early English style, to Yankee style, to gambrel and then pole barns to accommodate the changing agriculture. This presentation will be a chronological walk through time, with photo illustrations of barns around the state that are examples of these eras of agricultural history."

Got Barn? What examples of barn architecture exist within Goffstown? Do you know exactly how your barn was built and used? Where does your barn fall in John Porter's architectural chronology? Join us to answer these and other questions about barns, their purpose, and their history. Do you have a barn on your property you'd like to share? Where does your barn fall in the history of agriculture continuum? Send a photo to, or contact Elizabeth Weilbacher at elizabethw@goffstownlibrary.com, or ask for her when calling 497-2102.

This event is made possible by a grant from New Hampshire Humanities.
