All community members are invited to join the Library Board of Trustees and architect Jason LaCombe to hear about the planning process for a library addition, view the plans, ask questions, and provide feedback. Note: the Library will not be open for other services during this time.

Pre-Holidays Cookbook Club
Tuesday, November 8 at 6:30pm
Are you dreading the unusual dietary restrictions of a significant other attending your holiday table? Want a new recipe that you can give a dry run before giving it a go for your loved ones? Are you simply interested in finding recipes that stretch your budget further? Find answers to these questions through our Pre-Holidays Cookbook Club.
First, browse the Goffstown Library’s extensive cookbook collection, and check out books that meet your particular challenge. Then make your dish. Finally, bring the dish to the library, where you can share it, the tale of why you chose it, and what you thought about the cookbook it came from. Join the delicious fun!!

Goffstown Public Library Director, Dianne Hathaway, will be presented with the New Hampshire Library Trustees Association’s (NHLTA) 2022 Director of the Year Award. Light refreshments will be served. Join us!

Amateur Detective Night
Tuesday, November 15 at 6:30pm
Do you have what it takes to catch a killer? Gather with other true crime aficionados and wannabe detectives here in the library to play Unsolved Case Files, the game where the stakes are (fictional) life or death. We’ll work together to analyze the clues and find out who committed a heinous crime!

Honoring the First Thanksgiving
Thursday, November 17 at 3:30pm
We will read Keepunumuk: Weeachumun's Thanksgiving Story and discuss the differences and similarities in the origin stories of this beloved holiday. We will enjoy a Native American side dish and activity. Each registrant will receive a copy of the book to keep.

Let’s Make: Thankful Tree Centerpieces
Saturday, November 19 at 10am
What are you thankful for? This holiday season, we’ll create beautiful tree branch centerpieces, complete with hanging ornaments on which you and your loved ones can list the things you’re most grateful for. These chalkboard ornaments can be erased and used year after year—the opportunity to start a new Thanksgiving tradition.

Storytelling Through Traditional Irish Music
Tuesday, November 29 at 6:30pm
Hear Celtic Fiddler extraordinaire Jordan Tirrell-Wysocki, as he uses music to relay some of the adventures, misadventures, and emotions experienced by Irish emigrants.
Come as you are, no registration required. Dancing shoes might be in order for this Musical Debut of our South Room gathering space. Mark your calendars now!

Gingerbread House Decorating Workshops
November & December
Family workshops are fun for everyone! We will provide the pre-built gingerbread houses and the decorating goodies, you just need to bring your imagination. Registration required. Registration will begin on Saturday, November 5 at 8am.
The annual Teen Competition is for those in grades 5-12. Decorate a house individually, or in teams of two, then vote for your favorites on the second floor during 12/5-10. Registration required.

Once Upon a Pie Baking Competition & Auction
Saturday, November 19 at 6:30pm
Stark Hall, 3 Church Street
The season’s favorite social event is back, sponsored by the Library Board of Trustees and the GPL Foundation!
- 10am-12pm Pie-drop off for entrants

6:30pm Awards & Public Auction. Come eat pie for $2 a slice!
Who will be the grand prize winner? Which town department will prevail for bragging rights?
The 2022 event is hosted by the Goffstown Public Library Board of Trustees and the Goffstown Public Library Foundation. The Foundation is a not-for-profit organization formed to handle a capital campaign for the building addition.

Building Addition Information

Building Addition
The Goffstown Public Library belongs to the community and that has been our focus for over 100 years.
The Library Board of Trustees has been working diligently behind the scenes to prepare for an addition to our historic building. The bond vote for the money to break ground and start construction has not been requested of the voters as of March 2022.

Manchester Transit Authority provides on-demand service now available Monday through Friday, 9am to 2pm. Make a reservation directly with Manchester Transit Authority as early as 1 week prior, and at least 24 hours in advance.
Rides to medical appointments, riders with disabilities, and those age 62+ receive priority booking. Service will be provided on a first come first serve basis and will be available "curb to curb" from any location in the Town of Goffstown to any other location in the Town of Goffstown or any medical facility in the City of Manchester or Town of Bedford. All buses are ADA accessible.
