Important Reminders

You will be required to wear a face covering while in the library building. Disposable masks are available in the lobby, along with hand sanitizer.

Foyer Browsing: Our foyer area is now open for browsing and check out of materials. You'll find a selection from all areas of the Library, mostly new materials, for kids, teens, and adults. Please call us at 497-2102 from the parking lot prior to entering, since we must limit the number of bodies in our space: one person or family unit at a time. You can still place requests remotely, and pick up contact-free, if you prefer.

Requests materials through our catalog at www.goffstownlibrary.com/search, email goflib@goffstownlibrary.com, chat www.goffstownlibrary.com, or by phone 497-2102.

We are no longer charging overdue fines on all items owned by our Library, as of June 17, 2020 -- please note that replacement and processing fees will still be charged for damaged items or items not returned 40 days past their due date.

Your returns are quarantined for 72 hours, and will not be checked in until after that quarantine period. When you check your account online at www.goffstownlibrary.com/account those materials will still appear in "Items Out" until they have been processed.

Computer Reservations: Call us at 497-2102 to make an appointment to use a computer. To keep Library staff and visitors safe, we are limiting the number of PCs in use, so your appointment length may be restricted.

Libraries are Wonderful!
Celebrate Library Card Sign-Up Month

Since 1987, Library Card Sign-up Month has been held each September to mark the beginning of the school year. During the month, the American Library Association and libraries unite in a national effort to ensure every child signs-up for their own library card.

Throughout the school year, public librarians and library staff will assist parents and caregivers with saving hundreds of dollars on educational resources and services for students. From free access to STEAM programs/activities, educational apps, virtual homework help, to the expertise of librarians, a library card is one of the most cost-effective back to school supplies available.

  • How much money can you save? Total your savings with the Library Value Calculator.
  • Need a library card? What about your friends or family members? Share the benefits of a library card with others and encourage them to sign up this month. It's easy to get a card - just stop by the Goffstown Public Library during open hours. You'll need to bring a current photo ID with Goffstown address, OR a photo ID and current mail to your Goffstown address. For detailed requirements please see the "Circulation Policy: At-a-Glance / Library Card Requirements."
Can We Talk About Race?
Courageous Community Conversations:
Can We Talk About Race?

In the time of the COVID-19 pandemic, the killings of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor, incidents in NH such as the arrest of Jean Ronald Saint Preux, and numerous slights in our own Greater Goffstown community have caused many of us to examine our beliefs about discrimination and racial justice. After having elected an African American as President, many people thought racism was behind us. Yet recent events seem to prove otherwise. Join us as we continue to explore these topics, facilitated by James McKim, Goffstown resident and President of the Manchester Branch of the NHNAACP.

These events will be held remotely via Zoom, for details and to register, visit http://bit.ly/CCCRace2020.

  • Institutional Racism - Tuesday 9/15 at 7pm - Panelists: Dr. Ande Diaz, Chief Diversity Officer, St. Anselm College; Brian Balke, SAU 19 Superintendent, and Chief Eric Sereno, Goffstown Police Department.

  • How to Be an Advocate - Tuesday 9/29 at 7pm

Registration is required, we will meet virtually and all registered participants will receive an email invitation with details on how to join the discussion.
