A Message from Chuck

I hear the lawn mowers running. That means one thing...guests are arriving (that's an insider office joke that we only mow in front of the Inn when guests are coming in). HAHA. No, it means spring is finally here. The cherry trees are starting to bloom and I saw a hummingbird yesterday. Boy that was a long winter!
We had a great goodbye party for John Loveless, Maintenance Director, last week. Over 100 people joined us. It's hard to see him go, but he earned a rest or at least a change of scenery. Thanks to all who attended. We will start working on transforming the Rhododendron area next week. It feels funny to see that once active house empty.
Thanks for all your support through the years. We've come a long way in my first nine years of being Executive Director here. I can't wait to see what the next nine will hold! Together, we will make the future happen!
Seabeck Celebration & Pines Kickoff Party
Pacific Tower in Seattle

We are looking forward to seeing many of you at our Seabeck Celebration and Pines Kickoff Party.  This will be a great event. We will gather at 1:30 pm on Sunday, April 30th at Pacific Tower in Seattle. The incredible staff at FareStart will serve food and drinks. We'll have a quick annual meeting where we say goodbye to two longtime Board members and install our new President. Then we will unveil the plans for the new Pines building. These plans are unbelievable and I can't wait to share them with you. Come be one of the first to see the future of Seabeck!

Seabeck Group Profile

Seattle Center of Self-Realization Fellowship
Coming to Seabeck since 1985

Aims & Ideals
To teach that the purpose of life is the evolution, through self-effort, of man's limited mortal consciousness into God Consciousness; and to this end to establish Self-Realization Fellowship temples for God-communion throughout the world, and to encourage the establishment of individual temples of God in the homes and in the hearts of men.

The Seattle Center is a branch of Self-Realization Fellowship, a worldwide, non-profit religious organization founded by Paramahansa Yogananda in 1920 to teach scientific techniques of meditation that lead to a direct, personal experience of God. The Center is open to the public for services and special activities.
Paramahansa Yogananda visited Seattle in 1924 on his way to Alaska, and later in 1925 and 1933 to give a series of lectures on the Science of Yoga. While in Seattle, he met one who was to become his most spiritually-advanced woman disciple "Edith D. Bisset" who later joined the Self-Realization Fellowship monastic order in 1932 and was given the name "Gyanamata" by the Master.
Seattle Center of Self Realization visits Seabeck in June and brings over 150 participants.
