In honor of World Down Syndrome Day, Jessica Fightmaster hosted a drive for NCDSA. Jessica and her family were first introduced to NCDSA when they received a Welcome Baby Bag for their daughter Harper, who was diagnosed with Down syndrome prenatally. The bag included a onesie with a book, an information packet, among many other items. Fast forward a couple of years and Harper attends Emmanuel Baptist Preschool and Daycare, who allowed Jessica to host the drive, giving parents, teachers, and church members the opportunity to make donations. Jessica said "I wanted to give back to NCDSA for providing my family with a sense inclusivity into a world we were new to. NCDSA has done just that as well as giving us the ability to educate ourselves, connect to support groups, resources, and other parents. We thank all of those who donated, and we are happy to introduce new parents to this journey and Down syndrome community.” Thank you Jessica for thinking of NCDSA and for helping fill our storage with supplies for Welcome Baby Bags!
