Kluge-Ruhe Aboriginal Art Collection Receives Generous Gifts


Gerald R. (Jerry) and Mary Reid Brunstrom have gifted 33 early artworks from the Utopia region in Australia's Central Desert to the Kluge-Ruhe Aboriginal Art Collection of the University of Virginia. Utopia is the name given to the traditional lands of the Anmatyerre and Alyawarre people. Among the works in the gift is one of the very first paintings ever made by Emily Kam Kngwarray, whose retrospective exhibition opens at the Tate Modern in 2025...read more
