Our Vision Statement:

We are a welcoming community FIRST UNITED in proclaiming FAITH in Jesus Christ, sharing HOPE for the future, and inspiring LOVE of our neighbors.

Sunday Presbyterian Women Celebration

The annual Presbyterian Women's Christmas Tea Jubilee is coming this Sunday (12/1) from 2-4pm in the Koinonia Lounge. Everyone's invited to enjoy special seasonal projects, sharing memories from our amazing P.W. history, holiday music, and - of course - Christmas cookies! Come and be a part of this amazing gathering this Sunday (12/1)!

Fun Event Returning Next Week!

Our popular, annual, community event called Reason for the Season is returning on Saturday (12/7) from noon to 3pm! It's free for all ages and open to the whole community offering Christmas-themed crafts, soups, hot chocolate, wassail, and cookies to decorate. This year we'll be offering something new - a "make-your-own swag for your front door" project (compliments of Gretzingers Landscape & Evergreens LLC). Hope you stop in and join us!

Advent is Here

Sunday (12/1) begins the season of Advent. We have several Advent devotionals on a table in front of the Welcome Center. There's a variety of types and topics, so choose one that suits you. Feel free to grab one for your grandkids too. Another special thing to do during Advent is to read a chapter a day from the Gospel of Luke.

Finally, If you (individual, couple, family,) would like to light Advent candles during worship, please contact Pastor Meggan soon.

Plans for This Sunday

Join us for worship this Sunday at 9am and share a BIG morning. We'll begin the Advent season by lighting the candle of Hope, recognize our actual 175th anniversary with our final history presentation, and read Psalm 25:1-10, and Luke 21:25-36 (click for links). Join us to learn what it means to wait in hope, while also recognizing the presence of Christ here and now. We'll also have the pleasure of welcoming a number of new members and recognizing the latest individual who's reached 50 years of membership! Hope you'll join us.

> Our Deacons are having a "Name Tag Sunday" this Sunday. It'll help us all as we continue to have visitors, new members, and perhaps that occasional feeling of "I forgot your name!" Stop by the table in the Narthex to fill out a tag before heading into the sanctuary. Thanks!

Sunday School for All (10:30am)

*Pre-K to 2nd graders (Room 5 downstairs)

*3rd to 5th graders (Room 6 downstairs)

*6th-12th grade Youth (Youth Media Room downstairs)

*Adult Sunday School (Koinonia Lounge)

Join Pastor Luke and Scott McPherson at 10:30am in the Koinonia Lounge for a jolly class as they continue the ongoing discussion of "A Christmas Carol." Tis' the Season to celebrate Jesus' birth. Discover how Charles Dickens's famous tale points to the King of Kings born in a manger.

Youth Group Updates

> If you didn't get enough sweets for Thanksgiving, make sure to check out our monthly Youth Coffee Shop & Bake Sale right after church. Money collected helps offset bigger activities like The Great Escape summer trip and our annual winter ski trip. *Please let Scott McPherson or Pastor Meggan know if you can bring baked goods or can help with the sale on Sunday.

> Time change this week for Youth Group! All 6th - 12th grade students are invited to join us this Sunday (12/1) from 5 to 8pm downstairs for a Movie & Pizza Night. Also, make sure to mark your calendar for our long-awaited "Lock In" event coming Friday (12/13 - 6pm) through Saturday (12/14 - 9am).

A Special Day for Giving

Giving Tuesday began in 2012 as a simple idea following Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday after we celebrate Thanksgiving. The idea is a special day to make someone smile, care for others, and generously sharing what we have. Giving Tuesday is coming on next Tuesday (12/3), and here are two ways you can participate.

First, if you'd like to support our First United ministries and mission efforts, you'll find special envelopes in your pew racks on Sunday to use for donations. If you'd like to give online, you can click HERE.

Second, Ecumenical Partnership for Housing (EPH) is a nonprofit organization that helps families make their dream of a safe, stable environment and self-sufficiency come true. Our church is one of 22 in the area who coordinate 37 housing units. A dedicated EPH supporter has agreed to a dollar-for-dollar match up to $50,000 of money donated to EPH during Giving Tuesday. Givers can contact EPH online at ephgb.org/donate or mail a check to EPH at PO Box 524, Green Bay WI 54305.

The Reformers Return in December

After a break in November for Election Day, our Dead Reformers Society will be getting together again next Tuesday (12/3) at 7pm at Badger State Brewery. Discussion details are still being finalized, but we hope you'll join us for another monthly session of interesting information and conversation!

Sharing the Love

Join us for our next Agape Drive-Thru Dinner coming Wednesday (12/4) at 5:45pm. The menu will be ham, "company potatoes," beans, and Christmas cookies for dessert. Everyone's invited to pick up free meals (while supplies last). Monetary donations are welcomed, but not required. Invite everyone to come share the love!

Don't Forget Your Chance to Help

Check out our Christmas "Giving" Trees and take some gift tags for the annual Christmas Store - a collaborative event coordinated by several area churches and De Pere Christian Outreach.

If you'd like to help with this wonderful project, volunteers are needed to sort items already received every Tuesday and Thursday at 9am. Also, if you'd like to volunteer for specific Christmas Store dates, you can sign up through the links below:

Return Your Pledge?

THANK YOU for your generous support during our 2025 pledge campaign. At this point, we're only ten pledges short of our goal. Pledging is not only a personal commitment, but it gives our Session confidence to plan and carry out First United’s Ministries and Mission. If you haven't pledged yet, please help us reach our goal. Click HERE for a copy of the 2025 Pledge Form to fill out and turn in.
