President's Column
Kent Dunham, Showdown Displays
As I write this, I am astounded how out of touch my February/March column looks in hindsight. I spoke of the Coronavirus as an overseas issue that appeared to be coming under control with many factory’s opening and sharing my confidence that we will put this all behind us soon…

Who knew what was coming next?

 “Building Your Brand with Purpose”
Presented by Charity Gibson, Peerless Umbrella

Learn how a strong marketing message and the right self-promo can help you build a brand that sells itself.

Promotional products work, right? If we say tell our clients that using promotional products is the number one way to build their business, then why are we using cold calls to build ours? Promotional products DO work, or more so, they CAN when used intelligently and intentionally. As my friend, Paul Kiewiet says, "It's not your client's job to remember you. It's your job to be unforgettable."  Let's get to it!
Seven Ways To Lead Strong During Uncertain Times
Reprinted with permission from Promotional Consultant Today.

Your employees have a lot on their minds. They are likely distracted by personal concerns and anxiety, and they might be worried about the future. As a result, they may disengage and feel like the work they are doing is no longer an important part of their life.
Did you know?

. . . you can use WD-40 to clean dried bugs and bird droppings from cars and trucks? Then rinse and wipe with a soft cloth. Danny Lipford, host of Today's Homeowner with Danny Lipford .

. . . curb appeal can add 14% to a home's value in slow real estate markets? One-third of the increased value comes from the curb appeal of the home across the street. Study by researchers at University of Texas at Arlington, published in The Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics .

. . . Zinc and glycyrrhizin (from licorice root) may reduce risk for coronavirus, advised Jacob Teitelbaum, MD. In studies on 2003 SARS coronavirus, zinc killed the virus on contact. Sucking a zinc lozenge when in crowds may offer some protection. Drinking licorice tea each morning and taking vitamins A, C, D and E and zinc and elderberry (available in a combination called ViraPro) makes your body less hospitable to viruses - another line of defense. Jacob Teitelbaum, MD, Hawaii-based holistic physician and author of numerous books including the upcoming, newly-updated Real Cause, Real Cure. Vitality101.com

. . . you can replace that missing puzzle piece? If you almost finish a jigsaw puzzle except for one piece that you can't locate, try contacting the manufacturer to request a replacement. If that doesn't work, try JigsawDoctor.com. Mail in surrounding pieces, the name of the puzzle manufacturer and a photo of the puzzle from the box. In about two weeks, you will get a new replacement piece. Cost: About $14-$21 per piece, depending on size. Real Simple. RealSimple.com

How To Work With Someone With A Low EQ
Reprinted with permission from Promotional Consultant Today.

At some point in your career, you're bound to work with someone who lacks emotional intelligence (EQ). They may be on your sales team or they may work in your client's organization.

In today's uncertain and tense work environment, they often add an extra layer of stress and frustration. According to Dr. Tomas Chamorro-Premuzic, a professor of business psychology at University College London and Columbia University, those with a low EQ can't keep their emotions under control. They also can't read and influence other people's
emotions.
