Greetings! Welcome to the first edition of D3 Weekly. I'd like to thank you for your contributions to my election as your new Miami-Dade County District 3 Commissioner. You elected me to champion issues that plague our communities, to stand with you and declare that our communities must prosper, and to utilize my skillset to guide you through this uncertain time. Thank you. There's much work ahead, I look forward to staying in touch.

Keon Hardemon is sworn in at 2020 Commissioner Installation Ceremony

Commissioner Hardemon sponsored legislation on February 2, 2021, to extend the amount of time municipalities have to expend funds provided through the 2020 Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act). The new deadline is September 30, 2021. This helps cities continue to serve individuals and businesses struggling to cope with the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Also on February 2, 2021 Commissioner Hardemon sponsored the co-designation of Miami-Dade County street signs, with the City of Miami, to be named "Betty Wright Lane" on Northwest 14th Avenue from Northwest 62nd Street to Northwest 67th Street. Together, the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners and City of Miami, salute the Miami-native and legendary Grammy Award-winning soul singer for her musical legacy and civic contributions.

New destinations to Tel Aviv and Paramaribo, Suriname, along with domestic flights to Little Rock, Arkansas and Portland, Maine were announced as part of American’s expansion and continued commitment to growth in Miami-Dade County.

"This expansion is more than just bringing bodies, more than just bringing baggage," said Commissioner Hardemon. "It's bringing ideas. Ideas that will come from Tel Aviv and land here in Miami-Dade County, more resources, more jobs and additional infrastructure."
