Dear family of St. Francis,

In this beautiful Fall season, we experience darker days and cooler nights. For many that is more than an experience of a season in nature, it is a new reality: financially, emotionally, physically or mentally. May we hold one another in supportive love and prayer.
And, as All Saints Day, November 1, approaches, I invite you to remember those you love but see no longer by thinking about them in the communion of saints that surrounds us. May the stewardship theme this year, “faith-filled generosity”, remind you to use the muscle of faith to get you through hard moments and look to the future with hope, rooted in faith. To support us spiritually:

We gather for Holy Eucharist outdoors at 9am for an in-person opportunity. At 10am we have our full worship with music online through our St Francis Website and Facebook page. For those who want to be around fewer people, there is Communion only at 11am, for a short 10 minute service.

Please text - 310-995-6519 - or email Paula+ to register for the 9am outdoor worship or 11am communion only in front of our church.

With the help of our ushers and altar guild, and many behind the scenes volunteers, the following protocols will help us stay safe at 9am for the outdoor worship:

  • You may bring your own lounge chairs, but we shall have available, clean, sanitized chairs also.
  • You must wear a face mask covering your mouth and nose.
  • The seating area will be marked with mandatory 6 foot distancing strips and signage.
  • The 4 stone benches on the perimeter of the patio will be marked for household units.
  • Signage will facilitate where to stand for Holy Communion.
  • At this time, Holy Communion will be wafers only in paper cups.
  • Hand sanitizer stations and extra masks will be available.
  • If you have a cough or do not feel well then take care of yourself and stay at home.
  • The parish hall restrooms will be open. Please use the spray sanitizer after use.

May we never forget we are in this together.
With love and care,

To our Online Community
And finally - for all of you in our community who can't be in-person at this time, please know that you are still vitally important members of our church family. We are so very sorry that the situation means that many of you will need to continue worshiping remotely. We know that must hurt. We'll be continuing our full online worship well into the future, and of course please know you can contact Paula+ or Jude+ at any time if you need some support, or prayer, or just a chat!
Remember Your Loved Ones
All Saints Day, November 1
On this day we remember our loved ones who have died. Please submit to Paula+ the names of any member of your family who has died since All Saints Day 2019. Please submit their names by 5 p.m. October 26. Their names will be read out loud on Sunday, All Saints Day, Nov. 1. May God’s strength and peace be with us as we remember parishioners and family members who surround us in the communion of saints those we shall always love but see no longer
Be together - 5 days a week, as well as Sundays.
Morning prayer twice-weekly, led by Paula+, and Compline three times per week, led by Jude+ and a team of lay leaders. Each service includes the traditional service, plus words from the leader, and explanations of the readings. They are prayerful and quiet, a far cry from the turmoil of the world, and medicine to help us heal and be comforted and inspired.
