Start your planning!
They came. They ate. They conquered.
Preston Street's first Presdelicious event was an absolute success! The restaurants who actively participated reported very satisfying sales through this promotion.

Presdelicious was so successful, that we would like to run it again in January, and July 2018. We hope more restaurants will get on board for these promotions in 2018.

The restaurants that promoted the event within their locations and through their social media channels had the most successful turn-out. Several of them used menu inserts to promote their table d'hote menus for Presdelicious, in advance of and during the promotion, and found they had a great response rate.

Get ready! Presdelicious will be back before you know it!

Don't forget the Do it Yourself Event Grants!

These grants provide you seed money to get together with a minimum of three businesses to put on an event.

To be eligible for the grant, you must fill out the application form, and present your event at the monthly Board Meeting for approval. Board meetings are held the first Tuesday of the month.

Ongoing Series: Marketing for your business
Who is your target market, and how do you reach them?

Almost every day, business owners are approached by advertising salespeople who have a "great offer" for you. How do you decide what truly is the right advertising channel for your business? How do you ensure that every precious penny spent on marketing is reaching your target customer? How do you decide which social media channels will reach your ideal client? Where do you focus your limited advertising budget?

Over the next several months, we will present a special series that aims to assist you in developing an advertising and marketing strategy that will maximize the return on your promotional spending, and ensure that it is reaching the customers you want.

Understanding who is your target market is critical to developing a strategy that will work. Read more

"Meet Me on Preston" Events Calendar

Our September events print calendar is now out!

The September  Calendar has been released! If you have an event that you would like on the printed copy of the October Calendar, you will need to have your information submitted by September 18th. We can add events to the web calendar throughout the month so be sure to make us aware of any special event or promotion you are having. We will also use that information to expand your advertising reach through the BIA social media channels.

If you have an event that you would like listed on the website, please email prestonbiainfo@gmail.com.

Deadline is September 18th to make the October poster. Online, you can email anytime.

Want your event featured on the Preston BIA website?

Have you submitted your events to the Preston Street BIA to have it featured?

The Events calendar is available both online and in print. It's purpose is to promote events created and hosted by our BIA merchants and relevant events in the area that would be of interest for locals and tourists to attend.

We can add events to the web events calendar throughout the month so be sure to make us aware of any special event or promotion you are having.  The BIA website gets over 6,000 views each month, that's eyeballs you want to be in front of.

We will also use that information to expand your advertising reach through the BIA social media channels.

If you have an event that you would like listed on the website, email  prestonbiainfo@gmail.com.

The print calendar goes out once per month and is distributed as posters so merchants can hang it in their windows. It is also hung on poles in the Preston area and distributed to Ottawa Business Journal and Kitchissippi Times readers on the back page of the newspapers.

This provides the opportunity for you to promote your events to a much wider audience and take advantage of the advertising dollars the BIA has invested to promote Preston businesses to an audience outside of Preston Street.

Have a look at how wide that audience is.

The OBJ has a huge reader base that your event could be seen by.

OBJ Distribution:
  • 20,000+ copies distributed each issue, with 10,000 print copies delivered to 500 locations, 1,000 VIP copies, exclusive distribution to the Ottawa International Airport, and 10,000 digital editions.
Kitchissippi Times Distribution:
  • 18,000 copies distributed each issue. Of those, 4,500 go to Ottawa Citizen subscribers, 10,500 to FlyerForce door-to-door, and 3,000 copies go to 115 drop points at the busiest retail locations, street boxes, and community centres... this community is right next door.
What are you waiting for? Get your event added to the Meet Me on Preston events.  Submit your event by the deadline and let the BIA spread the word.*

*note:  The Preston Street BIA reserves the right to review and approve all events and content prior to posting.
