Community Connect is back for a fifth year! Connect with community organizations and vendors providing interactive resources on health and wellness, everyday living and educational opportunities. There will be games, displays, booths, food trucks, music and more!
This FREE event will feature the Norfolk Police Department, Ident-a-Kid Services, community vendors and information on City assistance services. Everyone is welcome!

KEEP NORFOLK BEAUTIFUL TO HOST SHRED DAY AND DONATION DRIVE
Residents with personal documents that need secure disposal are invited to Keep Norfolk Beautiful’s Fall Shred Day and Donation Drive. This event is hosted in partnership with the Upsilon Omicron Omega Chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., and the Basilica of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Youth Ministry.
This drive-thru and drop-off event gives residents the opportunity to safely and securely shred personal documents on site.
Canned and nonperishable food donations will be accepted during this event to support the Basilica of St. Mary Food Pantry. Get more info at Norfolk.gov/knb
Keep Norfolk Beautiful is also accepting donations of pet food to support the Community Pet Pantry at the Norfolk Animal Care Center. Any UNOPENED pet food – wet or dry, any flavor or size – will be accepted. For more information about the Community Pet Pantry, visit Norfolk.gov/petpantry

During National Customer Service Week
Customer Service Week is October 6 - 10! It's a perfect time to celebrate Norfolk Cares, the team dedicated to delivering responsive, courteous and consistent service to our residents and businesses.
Whether you're submitting a bulky items pick up request on the My Norfolk App or calling the City's customer service center with a question or comment, the Norfolk CARES team is knowledgeable, prompt and professional.
You can request more than 100 services anytime using the My Norfolk app, available in the Apple store and Google Play, or use the MyNorfolk.org online portal.
Norfolk Cares also handles requests by email (HealthyNeighborhoods@norfolk.gov) and by phone at (757) 664-6510 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

RENT READY NORFOLK: FREE VIRTUAL CLASSES
The Department of Neighborhood Services is continuing its work to strengthen Norfolk’s rental housing landscape through Rent Ready Norfolk (RRN), a free program that supports landlords, property managers and tenants with education and valuable resources.
This October, RRN’s RentingSmart Academy will host a series of virtual classes designed to help participants make informed, confident housing decisions:
Screening Tenants 101

Renter’s Rights & Responsibilities
