Summer Fun For All
Summer is here in the Mermaid City and we have activities to keep you having fun all season long! Enjoy Norfolk Public Library's Summer Reading Program with in-person and virtual events and chances to win prizes while you're enjoying a book by the pool, at the beach or the comfort of home. The Norfolk Nighthawks return to the court starting July 1. This program is for those ages 18 and up and provides more than just hoop time! It's a great time to take it outdoors, so be sure to enjoy the 7.3 miles of shoreline, our pools and splash pads, bike and pedestrian trails and our many parks and playgrounds.

Norfolk Public Schools is participating in the Summer Food Service Program.
Meals are provided to all children, ages 18 and under, without charge. Meals are provided on a first come, first served basis.
Locations and updates are available online.
No application, registration, or identification is needed.

Congratulations!
Elizabeth River Crossings awarded eight local high school graduates with its annual Good Citizen Scholarship. Five of the recipients are Norfolk graduates. The scholarship commends students who consistently reflect excellence in character, demonstrate leadership, and make positive contributions to both their school and community.
This year’s recipients were actively involved in extracurricular activities such as varsity sports, chorus, environmental clubs, Model UN, Scholastic Bowl, theater, and various honor societies and leadership programs. These students are also dedicated volunteers at local churches, schools, and more.

Free Training Opportunities
Training sessions are available for you! Courses include Mental Health First Aid, Youth Mental Health First Aid and ACEs & Trauma Training.
These offerings are virtual and FREE!
The Norfolk Prevention Coalition is also hosting two in-person REVIVE! Layperson Training sessions. Participants will learn the signs of overdose and how to properly administer naloxone.
