It's Coming: The 10th Annual Neighborhood Expo!

Celebrate Norfolk's rich and diverse neighborhoods at the 10th Annual Neighborhood Expo, coming to Northside Park on Saturday, September 17.

The theme this year is Crafting Community Connections – an opportunity to create something special with your neighbors, friends, civic leagues and community groups. There will be food and fun for all ages!

This year's event will also feature the 3rd Annual Community U.P.L.I.F.T. Awards. You can nominate an individual or group making positive changes in the community for an U.P.L.I.F.T. Award.

This NEW mini-grant program provides low-barrier funding to communities most impacted by gun violence. The program will promote recovery, healing, recreation and community-building.

Here's a quick reminder on how to safely and properly dispose of grass clippings and yard waste. Remember: only rain down the storm drain!

Recycle Right Tips:

Don’t bag recycling (must be placed loose in curbside bins or drop-off centers)
Recycling must be empty, clean and dry (no liquids, food, grease or oil)
Remove spray nozzles and pumps from plastic bottles
No plastic bags, film or wrap is accepted

We're seeking YOUR input on our draft Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing (AI) via a public meeting on Thursday, August 4 (6:30pm - 7:30pm) at the

Norview Community Center.

A public comment period is open through August 23. The draft AI is available for review here. Pick up a hard copy at Slover Library, Jordan-Newby Anchor Branch Library or Mary D. Pretlow Anchor Branch Library. A summary of, and response to all comments, will be included in the final draft submission to HUD.
