Parking Garage Safety & Security

Our Parking Division's efforts to help increase safety and security in City-operated parking garages are nearly complete. Earlier this year, the Division launched a robust camera and lighting replacement program in more than a dozen City parking garages. Camera replacement is expected to be complete early in the new year. Funding for additional cameras is requested in the FY24 budget. For additional safety and security support, Norfolk Sheriff's Deputies are patrolling City garages and private security is scheduled for additional shifts as needed.
