The start of the new year offers up a variety of ways you can get involved!
Want to know what you can do to make your neighborhood stronger? You have the power to spark community change! Our Department of Neighborhood Services has workshops, discussions and events lined up for the year to connect you with the resources, networks and strategies to bring your community together. It all starts with the Ignite 2023! Kick-off Event featuring Rich Harwood, author and founder of the Harwood Institute for Public Innovation, on Feb. 23 at Slover Library. Have a student between the ages of 16 and 21? The Norfolk Emerging Leaders (NEL) program offers them the opportunity to have a summer job where they can learn about public service careers in local government, gain valuable hands on work experience and get access to job readiness training and financial literacy education.
