A Moment in Time

On Friday, November 20, 1953, Maury and Granby cheerleaders were practicing on the field behind Granby High School ahead of the 11th Annual Thanksgiving Day football game between the rival schools.

It was a pretty big deal! More than 15,000 fans packed Foreman Field that Thanksgiving where the Granby Comets defeated the Maury Commodores 14-7.

There's so much Norfolk history waiting for you to discover in Norfolk Public Library's Sargeant Memorial Collection.

Start your travel back in time.
