Our 2017 National Philanthropy Day Educational Conference and Awards Luncheon was held on Friday, November 3, at the Hard Rock Convention Center.  
Our awards luncheon recognized the following individuals and organizations:  
Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser: Tina Parkhill; Outstanding Philanthropist: Bank of Oklahoma; Outstanding Fundraising Executive: Lori A. Long, CFRE; Community Impact: Thomas K. McKeon, Ed.D.;
Outstanding Diversity & Inclusion in Philanthropy: Oklahomans for Equality; Outstanding Youth In Philanthropy: Taylor King.

Dear Friends and Colleagues:
Thank you to all of our attendees at National Philanthropy Day.  We had a fantastic turnout at the luncheon with more than 200 people in attendance.  Our conference was also well attended and were able to hear from our nationally renowned speaker - Lynne Wester.  Ms. Wester has a tremendous following by nonprofit professionals around the country.  She is known to most as the "Donor Relations Guru." If you missed her presentation, please visit her website for more information  She is truly wonderful!
At our luncheon and awards ceremony we were honored to have Mrs. Peggy Helmerich present each of our award winners with their respective awards.

JohnsonRepeal of Johnson Amendment: One Step Closer and Another Step Worse
The repeal of the Johnson Amendment, which prevents nonprofits from engaging in certain types of partisan politics. Most recently, language for that repeal has been part of Section 5201 of the House of Representatives' tax bill, and that original section allowed churches to be explicitly political and still pay no taxes.

We are thrilled to share our chapter has initiated a Membership Scholarship fund. These scholarships will be award in both full and partial funding. If you are interested in applying for a membership scholarship, please review the scholarship requirements prior to submission.

As of November 1st, we have raised $1,159 of our $1,781 goal. Thank you to the amazing 17 donors that have already given this year! We would love to reach out goal before December 31st! Will you help us achieve our goal?
