DEC gets good report from CALEA on-site visit,
accreditation decision to come at May 2019 conference
Representatives from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) examined all aspects of the policy and procedures, management, operations and professional services of the DEC, Oct. 8-10. They commented on the professionalism and knowledge of the staff. The DEC will attend the CALEA conference in May 2019 for a hearing, where a determination will be made on our accreditation.

October in review
Congratulations to 29th Basic Dispatch Academy graduates
Nine students graduated on Oct. 19 in the 29th Basic Dispatch Academy graduation, which had been postponed from its original date of Sept. 14. All of the graduates were released to operate telephone positions.

D Platoon roll call fun
Members of the D Platoon have been participating in fun team-building activities during roll call, under the direction of ACOS Ulrica Graham. Citizens' Academy, Imagine, presentations, Trunk-or-Treat outreach
October outreach events included the Carytown Community Walk on Oct. 16, hosting the 27th Citizens' Police Academy on Oct. 18, Imagine event on Oct. 20, presentation to the 5th District Council on Oct. 25, 3rd District Resource Fair on Oct. 25, and Trunk-or-Treat on Oct. 31.
