The City of Lincoln Park will be closed on November 11th, 2020 in observance of Veteran's Day.
The City of Lincoln Park will also be closed on November 26th and 27th in observance of Thanksgiving.
Please remember that if a holiday falls on a weekday, your scheduled service day will be delayed by one day. Regular collection will resume the following week.

Lincoln Park COVID-19 Updates |
|
City buildings reopened to the public on June 8, 2020. Residents can continue to utilize the drop box located on the west side of City Hall (near the wheelchair access ramp), postal mail, and online services available at www.citylp.com for transactions.
City parks re-opened to the public on June 2, 2020. As of June 24, 2020, city playgrounds, soccer fields and ball diamonds are now open. Please use them at your own risk as the city will not be cleaning or sanitizing them. Restroom facilities in the parks are still closed.
Please continue to practice social distancing and stay safe.

The library reopened to the public on August 10, 2020.
There are going to be many changes to how library visits work; the COVID-19 pandemic is ongoing, and we have to take steps to protect library patrons and members of our staff. Please keep these restrictions in mind when planning to visit the library; hopefully, we will soon be able to move back towards our normal operation.

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued a guide on how to safely celebrate the holidays during COVID-19.

Yard Waste/Leaf Collection |
|
As the leaves are falling, please be mindful that it is against city ordinance to rake or blow leaves into the street. Blowing leaves into city streets may get them out of your yard, but they eventually end up somewhere. For municipal streets, it’s usually in the storm water drain where they clog pipes and result in street flooding. Instead of blowing leaves into the street, please place your leaves in paper yard waste bags or 35-gallon containers labeled with a compost sticker. Yard waste will be collected on your scheduled pickup day until Saturday, November 28.
In addition, street sweepers will be out on your trash day. Please follow the posted “no parking” times so the street sweeper can effectively sweep your street.

Gleaner's Free Food Distribution |
Helping our community during urgent times of need.
Families and individuals in need of food are encouraged to attend an upcoming drive-up distribution provided by Gleaners Community Food Bank.
When: November 20, December 4, and December 18.
Time: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Where: Lincoln Park Community Center Parking Lot - 3525 Dix Hwy
Approximately 30 pounds of groceries: Items like milk, fresh fruits, vegetables, lean protein, and other shelf-stable items.
Drive-up or walk-up: Stay in your vehicle, and groceries will be placed into your trunk. Walk-up guests without vehicles or those without a trunk are welcome to obtain groceries from a self-service table. If walking, please be prepared to carry the groceries or have a cart.
No appointment needed. You do not need to be a resident of Lincoln Park to receive food.
Increasing safety: If you wish to pick up for another household you may do so without their presence in the car.

Together with Gleaners Community Food Bank, we are taking all necessary precautions to distribute food safely.

Eviction Diversion Program |
|
Wayne Metro is the lead agency for the State's Eviction Diversion Program in Wayne County. The state has identified $50 million to assist tenants in making arrears payments to avoid being evicted. Wayne Metro has been allocated funding to assist tenants facing eviction.

Unless otherwise noted, Council Meetings are the first and third Monday of every month. They are held at 7:30 p.m in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
If you are unable to attend a meeting, you can watch the live stream on YouTube or watch the rebroadcast on channel 12 (Comcast) and channel 10 (WOW!).

The city of Lincoln Park has partnered with GFL Environmental, USA to bring a new comprehensive recycling program to all Lincoln Park residents.
The program officially started during the month of October with all other services remaining unchanged.
All items for pick up (including trash, recycling, and yard waste) must be out by 7:00 a.m.

Curbside Etiquette:
Why Was My Rubbish Collection Not Picked Up?
|
|
One of the most common reasons why our rubbish collection contractor misses pickups is because they simply did not see it!
It is important to place your cart so that the opening faces the street with the lid completely closed to avoid rubbish from falling in to the street. Be mindful to make sure the cart is not blocked by a vehicle or other curbside items.
Yard waste must be placed in designated paper yard waste bags or properly marked containers. Yard waste stickers are available at City Hall.
The yard waste truck will not stop to look in unmarked containers. All branches and twigs need to be cut in 3 foot lengths and bundled with twine. Filled bags must be less than 50 lbs. Please remember, dirt is not considered yard waste and will not be accepted.

Reminder: Residents can only put out ONE bulk item per week.
An example of this would be only ONE of the following items: a mattress set, a couch, carpet cut and rolled into 3 foot sections, or two additional 35-gallon size containers or bags weighing 60 lbs. or less.
