We received a letter from the BBB informing us that we did not win the Torch Award for Ethics. This was a great process and we are proud that we were finalists.

We have partnered with Innovia and Empire Health Foundation to spread the word about Giving Tuesday. Please share our social media posts with your network of friends.

In an effort to raise up United Way as a year-round community charity we will be airing our first television commercial. This will be a 15 second commercial with KHQ. The commercial will air during the KHQ Wake Up Show, the Today Show, the afternoon Jeopardy, and on SWX Sports.

We would like to offer our congratulations to the Excelerate Success team for the outstanding event featuring author Robin DiAngelo. Dr. DiAngelo provided a conversational space for over 300 members of our community to discuss race, systems, and unequal power.

CICommunity Impact
The Community Impact Committee and Community Impact staff led a discussion of United Way's current investments relevant to the revised Investment Strategies.

We are looking for volunteers to be part of a United Way Investment Team. Volunteers are needed for spring of 2019. We seek diverse perspectives and experiences on the teams.

ELSEmerging Leaders Society

The Emerging Leaders Society hosted their fifth Spokane Philanthropy Awards luncheon.

The nominees and finalists were honored by a crowd of over 300 people.

CampaignCampaign
This campaign has seen recent gains.

Itron announced an increase in both employee and corporate giving. Their campaign increased by $15,000.
This is an increase of 20% over last year!

To be more customer friendly / responsive we have worked to offer companies online giving through our website. So far over 30 companies have said yes to this new opportunity for giving.

Thank you Cowles Company for being one of our first online giving campaigns!

Please help us keep the momentum going. We are asking for more volunteers to call on accounts that have potential to add to our current increase. Contact Kevin Mead, Vice President of Resource Development to volunteer.
